Didn't buy into the relationship and I disliked Finn
This book just didn't work for me. It was well written but I just never really liked any of the characters except for Daniel. Ali was just a little too immature and her "rabbit" heart got old after awhile and I never liked Finn. He was arrogant and entitled and I didn't like the way he treated Daniel. The world building was just okay - I kept picturing "The Walking Dead' since this book described a world A LOT like that series. At first, I thought I was going to like/get the menage plot, after all Daniel had good reasons for wanting Finn to be invested in Ali's safety/life. The problem I had was threefold: At first Daniel knows this is best for Ali but doesn't like the thought of sharing her at all and then all of a sudden he's fine with it (What happened - how did he get to this point?). The second is Ali who doesn't want to get involved with Finn at first because she loves Daniel and then all of a sudden she's not only totally on board but she's in love with Finn as well. And finally, this was more Ali having a sexual relationship with two different men, not really the three of them in a relationship together. At the very end, there is a scene where they are all together but by that point I just didn't buy it. I also thought that the "love" came WAY TO QUICK". Daniel and Ali were in love within days of meeting and Ali and Finn also within days of his joining them. I think the book would have been better if the author had stuck to the "need" aspect vs love. Anyway, between my dislike of Finn and the instant love (I didn't even mention the fact that they always had condoms even though it's an apocalypse) I just can't give this book more than 2 stars.

Hot post-apocalyptic ménage romance with zombies
I love The Walking Dead and Z Nation TV series, but I generally prefer post-apocalyptic novels without zombies. That said, I did enjoy this. It is a post-apocalyptic ménage romance with zombies.Ali has been holing up in an attic since the zombie apocalypse started. When she runs out of food, she goes foraging in empty houses. There she finds Dan and points her shotgun at him. This novel started out with a whoosh instead of a lot of backstory, which I enjoyed very much. The action kept on going, with the zombies and other humans and in the bedroom. It contains several graphic sex scenes, M/F and M/F/M, because along the way, they meet Finn. I loved the characters in this, especially Dan, who is very funny. This novel made me laugh out loud a few times. I liked that they are in their 30s and 40s. I also loved that Ali is a strong woman. She helps herself, fighting back instead of waiting to be saved. She’s no annoying damsel in distress! It is set in Australia, but if it wasn’t explicitly stated, I wouldn’t have known. There is no dialect speech, not a lot of “mate”s and such. Just a little flavor thrown in.Everything is totally consensual. There is no cheating or OW/OM drama. It contains foul language. There is lots of sex and quite a bit of violence. For a zombie story, I wouldn’t say it was gory.I thought it was well written with good pacing. I caught only 6 outright errors, which is fantastic. There are many comma splices (sentences with two independent clauses joined with a comma but not a conjunction). It happened so often that I have accepted this as style. I’m not a fan of the style, but that’s probably because my brain keeps yelling, “Error!” while I’m trying to enjoy the story. I do think it may add to the fast pacing. If you like ménage and zombies, I recommend it. I plan on reading the next in the series, Skin. This is a standalone novel but part of a series, with different characters in each book.

It isn't all just sex and zombies, don't worry.
As reviewed on KayFrayBooksPost-apocalyptic Erotica. Yep, you read that right. It works though. There is plenty of steamy sex, but also a good bit of comedic relief from Daniel. It isn't all just sex and zombies, don't worry. There is actually a story in there. I know, I know, I was shocked too. It is the story of survivors, doing their best to stay that way. Think of it as an X-rated version of the Walking Dead.I like that Daniel is such a realist. He doesn't want to share Ali, but knows that Finn can offer a level of protection that he cannot. And the best way to make sure that Finn wants to keep Ali safe as much as Daniel does, is by allowing him the same access to her body and heart. They form an odd but functional little family. That has sex with each other of course.Daniel Cross: He is in his early 40's. A loner, but not in a creepy way. He is smart and funny. A caregiver but not a skilled protector. A realist.Ali Jameson: She was a secretary before the apocalypse. She is 32 with dirty blonde hair. Ali is stronger than she realizes and very smart. She survived the first 60 days of the apocolypse by hiding in her neighbor's attic. This kept her safe and afforded her a hell of a view.Finn Edwards: A cop before the apocalypse. He has strong protective instincts. In his 20's with pale green eyes. Slightly more angry and impulsive than Daniel is.Point of View: Alternating first person

Zombies and a new world order
Zombies are mostly in the background as the story focused on three survivors joining together to survive in a world gone mad. Ali has been holed up in an attic only venturing out in the day to search for supplies. One day she is surprised by a man and tries to escape from him. Dan is almost drunk with happiness to have found another person, especially a woman. Soon they are traveling together when they are at attacked by bikers. They are saved when Fin shoots at the bikers and the three of them run off together. I really liked the three main characters and how their relationship developed. I liked how different they were and how they had to work to get along with each other. I couldn't put the book down.
