Perfect size for the type of cheese I’m making. Great quality, easy to wash, and it also works to press tofu. Love the cheese cloth.

Very nicely salid made press. The follower is a smooth yet tight "seal". What I like is that the underside of the follower has the same rounding than the bottom of the mold.

Mold and follower are solidly built but there are some deficiencies to I think adversely affect it's use. First, there are only 4 small holes (appx. 1/8") in the bottom of the mold and none in the sides. Whey did drain from these holes but it seems constricted to me. The bigger problem is the follow. The follower has a shoulder on the inside surface with a radius that matches that at the bottom of the mold where the sides meed the bottom. This seems like a good idea as it should give the bottom and top corners of the cheese the same profile. However, there is very little clearance between the inside of cylinder and the outside edge of the follower. On mine, there was friction between the two and it bound up completely when pressed down about half way in side the mold. Depending on how full the mold is, this will make it difficult to apply an accurate pressure to the cheese. Another problem that arises from the tight follower fit has to do with the cheese cloth. If you typically cover the top of the cheese with say just a corner of the cloth and and the follower and let the rest of the cloth hang over the top of the mold, this mold will not allow that. The tight fit of the follower demands the cheese cloth must be laid on top of the cheese before the follower is inserted into the mold. Under pressure, some whey squeezed past the follower edge and sat on top of it. Modification of the mold could resolve these issues - drill more holes, sand or file the follower edges - but that is a time/economic decision you should consider before you purchase.

It is really sturdy. I gave it 4 stars because it has just 4 holes to drain the whey. I made on it several holes without problems because the material is really strong. I will buy another one. It is worth the money.
