I live in a townhouse, and all of us in the community have six-foot, white vinyl fencing surrounding our back patios. I saw some people using screws or small hooks to hang things on their fences, but these options always left a permanent mark on the fence, and I didn't want to mar the fence around my patio. These hooks are perfect and very sturdy, and the white powder coating means they won't easily rust and also that they blend right into my white fence. The square part fits right over the top rail, and they're loose enough that they easily slide from side to side to be repositioned or unhooked and removed completely. The round part is big and strong enough that it can hold whatever you have in mind. My hooks are holding some lightweight metal decorations, an outdoor thermometer, and a couple of bird feeders, but I'm sure they would easily hold something much heavier instead. However--word to the wise: the ends of the hooks are too large to fit the hanging brackets of most things you'll want to use the hooks for, so don't forget to get some string or twine or zip ties or something to attach your items to the hooks!

I bought 72 of these to hang light on my Pergola. My main goal in using these versus drilling holes or screwing in hooks was to avoid damaging my pergola while also having the flexibility to move the hangers around if I had small cosmetic improvements to make. In general the project went very well and I'm pleased with them but there are a few issues I wish I had known before buying and I think others who may have a similar project should know:#1 Some of the hangers come a little dinged up (white powder coating chipped off in some places. Not a big deal but they aren't shipping to the customer in pristine condition each time. Since I ordered so many I found this to be the case about 20% of the time.#2 They have a tendency to scratch the pergola in the area they are being hung. This is because they fit so tightly to the pergola beam that as they slide in place they scuff the pergola beam wall. If you are very careful you can prevent this but it's not so easy when you're up on a ladder trying to hang these to avoid it. I have a photo showing an example scratch to the paint of the pergola. It's not terrible but it's something I would have liked to have avoided.#3 The weight of the lights I hung had a tendency to pull the Alumahanger out of position slightly. So instead of simply hanging in place straight down, they can shift a bit to the point where the light hanging from them is ajar/off-center from the intended straight-down angle you want to hang a light from.Overall the product is quite good though and I'm happy with my purchase. I didn't see any of these points in the previous reviews so I thought this might be helpful to know for someone considering this purchase.

I bought these to hang patio lights from the rafters under my pergola. I didn't want to screw in hooks or use nails or staples as I want to be able to easily remove and replace the lights when the string dies. For that purpose they are perfect. I simply think they are really expensive for what they are so they are not a value for the money.

I love these for hanging orchids on my vinyl fence. Great customer service and replaced a few that had rust. A bit expensive but sturdy.

Fit on to my vinyl fence perfectly and has fully met expectations. I hang both plants and solar mason jars on the fence and they enhance what was previously a bland vinyl fence.

Product very sturdy and nice looking. My complaint is that the hook portion does not extend far enough away from the fence, so the 10" round hanging pot of flowers is rubbing against the fence and and won't sit straight. I am not sure what the solution would need to be, but it seems to me the design could be tweaked. It's a great hook for hanging ornaments, anything fairly flat, but a round flower pot doesn't work very well.

We used two of the hangers to hang some wrought iron decor from our vinyl fence in a small bistro area. We painted the hangers the same color as the fence so the color difference wouldn't be so obvious. They are perfect and do exactly what we wanted them to do.
