Needs a separate special charger
I'll bet Black Diamond, like most outdoor companies, love to claim that they are out to save the environment. They don't tell you that comes second to making a profit off of selling equipment that requires extra proprietary peripherals, like special chargers for their proprietary rechargeable Li-ion batteries for their equipment and without telling you up front before you buy their overpriced equipment. We know very well that rechargeable batteries can be manufactured with a charging port built-in, requiring only a standard universal USB charging cable to charge them, which seems to be along the lines of what customers were expecting. But Black Diamond would rather charge you separately for the battery, and yet again for additional charging hardware to clutter up your spaces and eventually the landfill and environment. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a greener. But I do value my space (I'd rather streamline my number of peripherals and do more with less) and my money. And this is a clear strategy to separate you from as much of your money as possible when more cost effective means for their customers are available.

Needs special charger
One needs a special charger for this rechargeable pack.Further, the Black Diamond 300 DUAL FUEL head lamp is advertised as being rechargeable.IT IS NOT. It comes with standard batteries and for a cost equal to the head lamp, you can buy a rechargeable battery pack IF you buy the special charger for yet more money.NG.

Easy to recharge, need to buy the charger which is very light, able to carry for camping, backpacking and hicking

NEED TO BUY SEPARATE EXTERNAL CHARGER
This company needs better explanation on their packaging. Purchased a headlamp and was expecting dual fuel meant that this battery could be charged while inside the headlamp. Was surprised to find I also need to purchase a separate charger for this battery. Makes no sense to buy this I may as well just carry spare AAA batteries with me when hiking and avoid buying this altogether.

Spend $100 on a head lamp only to have to spend $30 on a battery only to find you need to buy a special, specific charger for the battery that’s not available anywhere.
