Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Official Strategy Guide

Picked up this guide for my nephew during his Skylander's obsessed phase. Good guide, does exactly what you expect from this kind of product. Would rate the content 5 stars, leaving 4 due to receiving a damaged book without having enough time to exchange before needing to give the book as a gift. Either way he loved it.

At this point, the original Skylanders is an older game however, ... Bought this for my almost teenage son. Having this guide has sparked him to go back to the game again. First off, it's a very well written, well organized guide to the game and characters. Very nice illustrations and excellent maps. Aside from helping a player to fully complete each level and get certain hidden objects that are otherwise very difficult to find (if that's what a player wants), it contains stories and background on each character. My son enjoys simply reading the guide and the information.I purchased my copy from "BrandSpankinUsed"; came quickly and was in excellent condition. Pretty close to "new" condition for a lot less $.

First the negative:For Stealth Elf the book says the starting console stat for Elemental power is 46. When I reset my Stealth Elf in game on XBox 360, to make sure I had a clean set of starting stats, the elemental power is 25. That is a big difference, although the other starting stats were correct that were listed in the book for Steath Elf. They kust have done the stat calcs using a full deck of characters, since you get a boost for elemental when you have more of that type of character. In case you were wondering, the stats on the physical cards that come with the skylanders are not the same in-game console stats, so those cards are pretty useless. The stats are not explained in the book either.The positive:Other than that the book is pretty good so far. It helps in terms of finding things soul gems, treasure chest, legendary items, and choosing develop paths for characters since the game is very vague on how paths work (this is a huge benefit of the book). Overall its really fun looking over the upgrades for characters, and the tips on the puzzles helps too.Overall you should get it.

Includes maps of each level and a detailed walk through. Helpful when wanting to locate all of the items and treasure chests. The maps could be a little larger, but they are helpful. Also included is a description for each character and upgrade options. I also like the section on the additional levels you can get.Worth the money so my daughter and I can complete the game and find all the items that we missed the first time through.

My son knew when this book was to arrive and left the front door open for the UPS man. As soon as he drove up, my boy was waiting on the porch. He opened the package and turned right to the pages about the catacombs he could not seem to get through. He worked through several of the ideas and such, to master different parts of the game he'd yet to get too. It was a hit! Mom happens to enjoy playing this game with him too; it's kind of cool!

This book has a good overview of each of the characters, a complete walkthrough of the main game, and a decent bestiary. What it lacks are walkthroughs of the add on areas, as well as explanations of what the extra items such as those in the expansion packs actually do. What is present is good, but it is missing enough to be frustrating, and I can not call it complete.

This strategy guide is a must!!! It is helpful in explaining who each Skylander is and helps you choose their path and upgrades. Trust me, you will never find everything there is to find on your own. It comes with maps for all levels including the Adventure Packs. It proved to be very helpful when going back and trying to complete levels with 3 stars! My daughter loves it and I got one for her best friend.

My 9 yr old nephew was very excited to get the guide ... but I think it gave him too many answers ... I should have waited longer to give it to him ... it gave him answers to challenges that he could have solved on his on ... given more time.

No stone is left unturned with this guide, it really does cover everything you could need and much more besides. With the wealth of information available on the Internet i was tempted to bypass this but glad i didn't. Excellent quality, fantastic level of detail and thoroughness covering everything, characters, levels, bonuses, upgrades, even the addon levels that you can buy separately are covered. The way it's laid out and the extensive use of screenshots are perfect as well, even if the text is heavy going for younger ones the pictures fill in all the blanks.No longer will my two boys argue over what upgrade comes next or what it might cost, we simply look it up! I also think it extends the life of the game because for them it was an eye opener on how much they'd missed the first time playing it through in their race to complete the game. Now they are replaying it again and again to find everything.Highly recommend and a perfect compliment to the game.

This has been incredibly helpful and interesting for my son who was new to skylanders. It told him all about the characters and their upgrades. It helped us when we got stuck. It gave the game longevity past completion as we could replay games and find all the hidden items. Also it has encouraged my sons reading as he will happily sit and read this when he can't go on the wii to get his skylanders fix. If you are confused by all the skylanders books but this one as it coverts characters and gameplay.

As this was got for a six year old now seven, I have to say as far as guides go this is one of the worst no detail on the maps but the character bio bits are fantastic. If you have the game you will want the guide.

I bought this book for my son, who loves the Skylanders game. We found it excellent. He spent a lot of time reading the book and finding out more about the Skylanders.He had a problem with the game at one stage and I was able to check the book for instructions on how to solve the problem - it worked perfectly.The book was delivered very quickly.All in all I was very happy with the book, my son was delighted with it and all aspects of delivery etc. were perfect!

I got this for the kids and then borrowed it, well it was great for the kids but the attention span for a senior player is not a lot, why because i finished the game in 2 days and i slept
