Good, not perfect
Been using this for a while and it works and so useful I only need to plug in the USB-C cable. Only problem is the occasional screen flicker on my monitor extended desktop from my laptop.

Does what it needs to
Being VESA mounted so it's out of the way is a huge bonus. The only problem I have is that it doesn't charge my laptop (Razer Blade 14) which would be ideal. However, I know this isn't a problem with the dock it charges my work laptop just fine. Sure, there are some improvements that I'd like to see like higher refresh rates through HDMI at 4K, maybe DP or USB-C output... but for the price I paid and with the added bonus of having stuck to the back of my monitor instead of taking up desk space, I can't really complain. It does almost everything I could want from it. If there was a non-thunderbolt version of this then I'd have been all over it as that'd probably charge my main laptop as well. It does what I need though so I'm happy with it.

Sad conclusion: I'm lazy
Picture the scene: I return to my office, wanting to use my laptop. I plug the power adapter into the wall. I blindly fumble in my bag, trying to find the cable. Located, I crawl back under my desk, connect the cable to the adapter and, heaving upright, I put the other end into the A/V adapter. I then reconnect my monitor and keyboard before finally plugging it into my laptop. Only now can I get back to work. With the purchase of this USB docking station that's abbreviated to simply plugging in a single cable. The tiny, inoffensive box sits on my desk with the larger power adapter sitting on the floor. I'm keeping it on my desk rather than using the VESA mount so I can use the front-facing USB port to charge my phone. As the headline notes, this doesn't enable me to do anything I couldn't before, it just makes something I do multiple times a day much easier. The price kind of feels high, but is comparable to another set of Apple cables and power adapters, and is lower than many competing units.Overall, absolutely not a necessary purchase but I really like it. Recommended if you're as lazy as me.

Basic but does the job
I've only had a short time but it's doing the job I wanted it for.Likes- VESA mount attaches to back of monitor, hiding it entirely- Single lead to my Macbook- charges MBP 13" with no problems- USB ports- Handles HDCP- 60hz for my 2650x1080 UW monitorDislikes- Expensive for a fairly basic dock- No USB-C ports (other than the one connecting it to your laptop)- Limited range of ports in general- Just HDMI output (which works fine for me)- Doesn't support 4K etc at full rate- 5 Gbps USB onlyFor the kit I have right now, it's good a single lead that charges and handles video at 60Hz for my Macbook plus providing USB-A ports and it's completely hidden by being attached to the back of my monitor. However it only handles 5 Gbps USB rather than the 40 that the Mac's USB-C ports do - so external HDDs are much slower. If you're using a 4K monitors then you may be disappointed with only 30hz.

True plug and play - couldn't be easier!
I just got a new MacBook Air (2018) and went into meltdown trying to find a decent hub for my big monitor and USB devices - nearly all got complaints of one sort or another. This or the other didn't work, or that model Mac/PC etc. - and then I found this.I plugged it in, and it just worked. Everything. USB plugs, network, monitor and sound/mic - so I'm a very happy!I know there are portable docks around, but I wanted something that would also power my Mac, meaning I can leave the power adaptor for that in my bag (not that I use it much...). This delivers more than enough power for my Mac and USB devices. I had an Elgato Thunderbolt dock for my old MBP, and this is so much better. The only slight gripe is that in the box is an VESA mount, so you can put it on the back of your monitor to keep every neat. What a great idea I thought. Actually, it's a fail as far as I can see... every monitor I've had, the stand has used the VESA mount a wall/desk mount will do the same. No matter though, it's only a small box sat on my desk and at least I can easily get at all the ports.Easily a five star item IMHO.

Don't do what I did - just get this
When I got the new 15" MacBook Pro I tried to cut costs, I purchased an off-brand charger and a £40 USB-C hub. The combination cost £65 so I couldn't see the justification for spending £125 on a dock when I could get away with half as much. The off-brand charger worked fine, but the hub would only accept either charger or monitor, not both at the same time. Plus the HD port was loose and I had to keep pushing the cable back in. Tried another £40 hub and it would only display HD not QHD so the monitor looked really fuzzy due to scaling. So £105 in, still no good solution. So then I bit the bullet and bought this. This is my first day with the dock admittedly, but it is working great. My computer instantly picks up the display, it is charging my laptop, and it seems to be able to handle a lot of USB devices plugged in simultaneously.Don't do what I did, don't try and save money by finding cheaper mix and match alternatives, because I've ended up paying twice. I should have just purchased this on day one. My attempt to save £60 has ended up costing me £105 more.

Keystone of my WFH setup.
I purchased this dock in late 2020 and it has performed flawlessly ever since. Well, that was until several days ago when something shorted and it no longer worked.I took for granted how much I depended on this dock for working from home, it had been in constant use for the past 8 months and hadn't caused any issues until now. I reached out to Plugable support and was pleasantly surprised at how efficiently they dealt with replacing my dock, less than 4 days after the first one failed I am here typing this review whilst using my replacement.Hardware fails from time to time and I have no reason to doubt the reliability of Plugable's products given how flawless my previous unit had functioned. What has impressed me more was how quickly they dealt with and handled my issue.
