Excellent Affordable Backlit Air Mouse/Keyboard for Android, Linux, Windows
I'm a distinct fan of this wireless air mouse and keyboard (with learning IR control for TV and AUX). I've looked at many, but this is the one I keep returning to - both useful and affordable. This replaced my Cirago and Gyration air mouse/keyboard setups that worked similarly to control a (now retired and expensive) HTPC, both of which lacked the backlight I so often wanted. My primary usage when looking for this remote was to control an Android HDMI stick, and especially so that the kids and the SO (significant other) could use it as well. The kids had no problem, but the SO still stuck in the VCR and traditional TV days took a bit longer, but finally got it.My selection constraints:- Android controls (primarily but also support Linux and Windows)- Backlit (can use at night with lights off)- Full QWERTY keyboard, including extra characters, and volume control- TV/AVR monitor control, especially volume and mute- IR (infrared) learning remote (or TV/Receiver control)- More affordable than Logitech Harmony- Kid and SO (and friends) friendlyPros:- Does all of the above- Battery lasts weeks at a time under normal usage- Mouse action has two modes: switch movement on/off OR move while holding button (and release to stop)I love having the backlit keyboard, for the Home Theater room as well as my late night bedroom viewing while the SO sleeps (connected to wireless headphones for sound). I like the learning IR remote for the TV and AUX control (the latter only in the theater, but also useful in the master bedroom which also has a soundbar).Cons:- Manual somewhat lacking (but support answered questions relatively quickly)- Mouse buttons seem backwards, but you can get used to it- Not enough buttons/controls for all TV/AUX functions (but enough to get by)As other reviews have said, yes the manual kinda sucks. But it does work well once you get used to it, and does everything I need. To get the backlight on, you must press the blue Fn key along with the blue asterisk key (F1) to switch it on and off. Also, it will take a little getting used to the air mouse if you've never played with one, but once you get used to it, it becomes very easy. You can also change the air-mouse axis direction by using Fn+Esc so that it will work more aligned with the QWERTY keyboard direction, but unfortunately if you turn off the device and then turn it back on you have to change both the axis and backlight options (but I rarely ever turn mine off). And if you hand it to a friend during a gathering, they may struggle with it a little bit, but most of the savvy ones get it after a few minutes. My setup:Gigabit network with large NAS storage device with all my DVDs, Blu-Rays, and other video material, along with music and photos, tied to Android-based HDMI TV sticks (for the unitiated, sorta like a Roku on steroids, more info at FreakTab if interested). I currently have 4 viewing locations - Main Home Theater with Projector and Receiver, Master Bedroom with soundbar and wireless headphones, Office, Kid's Play Room. I plug the Android HDMI TV sticks into each setup - primarily to use Kodi (formerly XBMC) to access my media, but also so that I can also access Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Pandora, Internet Radio streaming tools, weather, and anything else under the sun, in full 1080p glory. The kids can even access source material on their tablet computers - or PCs.Other brands I've used and tried: Mele, Measy, iPazzPort, Cirago, Logitech, Rii, EFO, and several off brands. YMMV, but I'm happy and can afford to setup one of these in every room - a full Android HDMI stick with Gigabit ethernet (actually half-gigabit due to USB2 speeds, but all you need) along with this remote, and better power supply costs me a measly $75/unit. Compare that to anything else available on the market and the hobbyist wins! I've also used this same control for other devices including Chromeboxes and PCs (haven't tried the Macs, but I'm not into proprietary setups). I've also tried the Roku, the Sony, the Western Digital, and the Popcorn Hour setups. This setup rocks.

I so wanted to like this.
This is a really cool and compact controller and it's easier to handle than you might expect given it's size. I loved it at first but after a month of use it's quirks got the best of me. The keys are wobbly and sticky, and the design, coupled with the small size, makes it too easy to hit the wrong key, or several keys at once. Also, the air mouse doesn't work worth a crap, even after I figured out how to change its direction. Finally, it started to suddenly not work at times like the battery was dead. Plugged into the charger it didn't register at all. Then suddenly it would work again at random. WTF! I really wanted this to work because I like it's design and compact size. Plus, the backlight is great. I finally bought a conventional small keyboard to replace it. Too bad!

Works great and easy to use.
This wireless keyboard is pretty cool. It takes a bit to get used to (maybe a couple of days of practice) but I really enjoy it. I use it because I hook my laptop up to my computer to watch things like Netflix, YouTube and Hulu and it's cool because you don't have to get up and touch the computer. It's easy as that. It lights up so that you can see it when it's dark. For work, I do training and I can walk around my classroom with it and type things in without being at the actual computer. It's very useful and I would recommend it to anyone!

Nice gadget but not as easy to use as cheaper remotes of this kind...
I purchased this remote control for use with a Android Smart TV Box. This remote is rechargeable via most Android Smart phone cables and does not eat was batteries like some other remotes I have used. The remote is also a wireless mouse but takes some finesse to use compared to cheaper remotes.

Very compact but easy to use
Very compact but easy to use...so far I like it.Also i couldn't find a backlight key on mine but to use the backlight you have to make sure the pointer is awake then press the F1 key and the Fn key at the same time....at least it works for me....hope this helps.

Lots of cool features and works well, but a little cheap.
Works really well. Such a great little device. Backlight is a nice added touch. The remote copying is cool too. Yes, it seems too easy to be true, but you program the universal remote by pointing your existing remote at it and copying the commands to each button.A few things though, 1) It looks and feels kinda cheap. You can see the circuit board through the space between the mouse keys! It just feels delicate in a plasticky kind of way. I doubt its durability. 2) The keyboard keys are really small and have no space between them. Almost impossible to only hit the key you want and not several others along with it. But it's to be expected with a device this small. 3) Mouse keys are reversed. This is actually smart and a good try. The primary click is supposed to be closer to your palm and easier to hit, with the secondary further away. But on such a small device, the primary click is too close to your palm and the further key is easier to reach. Easily switched in your computer's settings. 4) I can't comment on the battery yet. I've only had it for 2 days. So far so good. It's still a really cool device that works really well, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend it to those who are willing to be delicate with it.

Keyboard is perfect size, and works well
Works perfect with my Raspberry Pi. I think the air mouse part is a bit hard to use. I plan on ordering another one for my media center, but plan on getting the model with the track pad instead of the air mouse.
