Buy Construction Claims: A Short Guide for Contractors by Netscher, Paul (ISBN: 9781537086323) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Superb! - An excellent, concise and very practical guide to successful claims process. This is a no nonsense approach that gets on with it. Packed full of valuable advice for both sides - contractor and employer. 'Short' in the title should not be mistaken for lack of valuable content - this is a cracking book. I also have the authors other books which are equally good. Highly recommended. Review: Great book, very easy to read and understand.

I've been working with contracts for years and have found this book exceptional. If you work for an Owner or Contract/Subcontractor this little book is full of great advice. Unless you're a claims expert, you likely have no idea what is claimable or not on a construction project. Often a contract is silent on many items. This book is also beneficial to Owners who are trying to become aware of the areas of risk in a project.

I bought this book to enhance my claim writing skills. Having been in the contract and claims management profession for several years, I encountered many claims, both written by myself and received from subcontractors and clients. At times, these claims were hard to read and to understand, some lacked even the essentials but the title! The magnitude of poor claims writing cannot be overstated. Most of the books on claims would focus on the ingredients of a claim, but very few indeed give practical advice on actual writing. This book fills this gap so nicely. It is well-structured and clearly written. Step-by-step it takes the reader through the journey of claims writing, carefully considering and illustrating every element and how it needs to be presented. I found this book impressive and comprehensive on many topics despite it being just 190 pages. Now this is a handbook that I consult on a weekly basis to keep my writing in shape. I recommended this book to my colleagues and would surely recommend it to anyone writing a claim or responding to one as a first choice.

Just go for this one without thinking twice. So far this's been the single book in the world being practical while others are mostly theoretical.
