I tried True Nutrition beef protein isolate and it was awful. Didn't mix well & the taste was gag-worthy. BulkSupplements checked of my list of adequate protein per serving, minimal ingredients and possibly the best price to weight ratio I've found. I was apprehensive as there were many complaints on this product but I was pleasantly surprised. It mixes well, has minimal taste (I bought unflavored) and has had no adverse effects on my stomach. I tried it for the first time today (12/16/2025). Package lot number is 2505806. Hopefully whatever the issues were have been sorted because I'm very pleased with this.

I have been using beef protein isolate in my smoothies for years, and I've tried many different brands. All previous brands tried behave the same way in smoothies: they cause it to froth up, thicken, become smooth, and change color slightly. This is expected for beef protein isolate, as this is the inherent nature of protein molecules when blended. The higher quality products will have the greatest frothing effect when blended. With this BulkSupplements product, there was absolutely NO so such effect, and my smoothie looked as if nothing had been added at all, despite using the exact same ingredients and conditions as always. This cannot be actual protein isolate OR, if it is, it has been so heavily processed to the point the proteins have been denatured, giving a poor quality product. This lack of effect would also be expected if additives are added, such as emulsifiers, thickeners, etc. Previous brands I've tried had no effect on taste, whereas this supplement gave the smoothie a horrible taste; I couldn't even eat it. I was so dissatisfied with this product that I had Amazon refund me. I will never buy anything from this company ever again.

I’ve been buying this for a couple years and consuming everyday. It’s been subtle in smell and taste when mixed into my morning coffee and I’ve loved the ease of digestion as I have significant gut issues. The last 3 shipments I’ve received came in a slightly smaller bag but then you open it and the air fills with a gross putrid smell that was never there before. The color has also changed and is more yellow and the true test it tastes like it smells! Cannot mask it and is literally not palatable. My stomach was grumbly and bloated after forcing down a 1/2 serving of my usual amount with coffee. Please go back to your original formula. I’m not sure what changed or why but I am no longer a loyal loving it customer and will not be buying this anymore.😥🤢

UPDATED REVIEW---I have purchased this item 6 times or the last year, This last batch was not the normal reddish color nor did is smell like the normal desiccated beef. this batch was a light yellow and smelled like chicken. lests get some good quality control going here, I hate it when a good product losses it's quality control. I don't know if i will order again. PREVIOUS REVIEW ------- If you are worried about the taste or how well it mixes, don't bother. This stuff is for building muscle. I mix about 30 servings of Beef Protein Isolate Powder with 30 serving of plain cocoa powder and 30 serving of plain Egg white protein powder with 30 servings of stevia. Makes a great chocolate, sugar free, double source protein drink. nothing added. and don't be stupid, I don't drink 30 servings at once. Better than anything from the GN Candy factory.

This is the worst chemical smelling stuff and the taste is even worse. Why does it leave a cheap vodka aftertaste ?Confirmed by 3 people too...changed my review to 5 star so maybe people will see it..

I have been very happy with Bulk Supplements products over the years and I am still a regular customer. Also, this particular protein powder is radically different from other beef protein isolate powders on the market. I only ordered the Bulk Supplements version because the stuff that has been working so well for me was out of stock at the time (and Bulk Supps stuff had never shown up in my recommendations until I went searching for an alternative). I was also so accustomed to being happy with Bulk Supplements powders etc in the past, that I bought a 1kg bag with no hesitation. Oops. This stuff though, smells bad and tastes worse. It sort of looks like unflavored beef gelatin (coarsely ground and apx the same color) BUT beef gelatin powder IS actually unflavored, AND actually dissolves in water. The flavor of this protein powder reminds me of ground up hamburger that has been over done on on a grill along with a faint charred smell (and once blended the charred smell becomes a very noticeable taste). Oh and as far as protein powders go, this stuff actually messed with my entire digestive system worse than any whey or soy protein powders ever did. The only protein powder I have tried that smelled worse was Brown Rice protein.

Good alternative to whey protein and doesn’t upset the stomach.

This is NOT unflavored!! It smells like nutritional yeast, and has a flavor that is difficult to mask. Currently trying this as a hot cocoa, but it's not working. Does this come in an UNflavored version?? I don't know what to do with this. Positives: it dissolves easily.

It is helping in increasing my protein intake for weight loss goals. Super easy to add to everything, sweet or savoury, as it is tasteless and dissolves completely. Helps curb the appetite in between meals.

Don’t buy this product. Awful smell and taste disgusting. Not fit for human consumption. The worst part is, if you need to return this, you have to pay the postage to America ($40). That’s not worth. So save you money.
