'THE CARDIOLOGIST WAS AMUSED... ' An In-Home Healthcare Professionals Perspective.
I got this back in December 23' as a holiday gift for my folks, shortly after Emay contacted me to ask how the reader was working and I told them I couldn't say because we haven't really had the results verified by my folks doctors, and I would respond with a review later on. Well we finally got into see the cardiologist and they did their own ECG using their own equipment and I shared with them the results we have gotten over a period of months with the Emay reader and the Cardiologist was amused. From what the cardiologist said is that readings are, or appear to be accurate, however the readings should not be relied upon without a doctors interpretation because every patient has a unique medical history and blood pressure also plays a role, so it was recommended that if you use this device you should also use it in conjunction with a blood pressure and oxygen reader and keep logs as it will help establish a history and assist in determination of issues during that history, in short its a neat little device and is as dependable as any blood pressure or oxygen reader in the professional home health care market. The doctor was adamant that it should not be used as a replacement device for professional hospital equipment, however she was impressed with the technology. In real world home healthcare applications the elderly may require assistance in using this device especially those with muscle control, mental health, or mobility issues, they have difficulty keeping their thumbs on the pads while holding it to their leg, it would be better if Emay offered an option to place a lead on the leg to the device as my patients have trouble holding it to their leg while trying to apply their thumbs to the pads at the same time. It might take several attempts to assist a patient to get even a decent reading, I suggest taking three readings so you can compare the results to find the most accurate reading.Do I recommend the Emay ECG reader, the simple answer is YES. The technology works and impressed our Cardiologist but you should use it with a blood pressure and oxygen reader and keep logs. We test about once or twice a month and we notice it makes the patient feel more at ease that their vitals are being observed and giving your patient attention, care, and peace of mind is priceless. 5*****Stars

Detects many heart rhythm abnormalities, not just afib
I'm very impressed with the EMAY 6 lead EKG device. I've been an ER nurse for 26 years and have always wanted access to a device like this at home. I didn't know it existed until a couple of days ago.My daughter and I have been dealing with "heart events" for several years and have had a hard time "catching" what is happening. Apple Watches and other devices on the market only record one lead which limits detection of certain abnormalities. The EMAY device records 6 leads and can detect multiple heart abnormalities (not just afib) and will notify you what the abnormality is: afib, missed beat, occasional PVC, bigemimy, trigeminy, runs of PVCs, PVC R on T, bradycardia, tachycardia, ST elevation, and ST depression. The device does not replace the need for a doctor's evaluation and follow-up 12 lead EKG, but it does fill the MUCH NEEDED gap that exists between the onset of feeling a heart event occurring at home and getting to the doctor. By the time most people get to the doctor, the heart event has resolved and there is no evidence of what happened. This device captures the evidence at home so doctors can move forward with more knowledge of what's possibly causing your symptoms.I'm also excited that this company doesn't require a membership to utilize the device's amazing benefits.I received the device today and used it several times to become familiar with everything so that when I felt the onset of a heart event, I wasn't scrambling to figure out the device. The device is very easy to setup and use!!! The device app used for setup and storage of the 6 lead EKGs is also user friendly. I'm not very technological so this is all a win for me.Another benefit is that it's the size of a small cell phone so it can fit in your purse or backpack.I was hesitant to spend $150 not knowing if the device would actually do what it claims. Since Amazon accepts returns, I took a chance. I'm grateful I purchased it.

Even Better Than Expected
I could not be more pleased with this device! It is so easy to use and you do not have to be a "techie" to maneuver through the process & features. Downloads to cell and/or PC happen with just a click. The main feature that sold me is compatibility with any cell phone. My cardiologist initially recommended Cardia brand (I believe that name is more well-known); however, I discovered Cardia devices are compatible ONLY with specific cell phones, and mine was not on that list; and even if my phone were on their list, I would not take a chance that could change! Also, Cardia requires a membership fee for their high-quality 6-Lead device...another big negative! So in the end, it is not the brand name that matters, it is the quality and features. This Emay 6L Portable EKG Monitor has not disappointed...it has met all my expectations...PLUS! I highly recommend this device!(NOTE: I did not upload photos to this review because listing photos depict device exactly as-is...I could not do any better!)

Easy To Use
The EMAY Portable ECG Monitor is very easy to use and understand. The instructions are clear and the users manual explains the details of each reading. The pairing with my iPhone was simple and quick. I also like how you can add other users and really found it helpful that I could go in and change the user name on a reading when I forgot to change back to my name on the app. At first, I thought the size of the device was big until I used it and realized anything smaller would be hard to hold and have proper thumb placement. And I like that it came charged and ready to use.
