Very simple DIY project.
The only thing I had an issue with is that the head unit came with two different wiring harnesses, and they don't quite explain which one you need. By process of elimination, I figured it out, but the rest of it was easy. I put the head unit in my 2016. Tundra it was very simple and it is a awesome piece of equipment, much much better than factory. I also added a front view camera which really helped out.

The UPGRADE your truck needs!
The media could not be loaded. The quality is high-end, works perfect 👌🏽It adds more functions and connectivity to other devices (usb/micro/hdmi)You can install this by yourself, just follow the instructions (which are Great!) and watch some videos on YouTube to have a general idea. Also each cable comes labeled 🏷 so it's easy to connect them at the right spot!

Better
It fits so well into the truck, I would expect the software to work better. It loses connection with apple carplay constantly. I emailed the tech support directly from their website but no answer, so that’s not a great look. Wireless CarPlay is the main reason I bought it so I’m pretty irritated about it not working. If they have a fix, I’ll definitely update the rating. If they don’t, I’ll be returning it pretty quick.Updated: customer support did help out and got CarPlay and such working, some of the apps do crash so it’s not 100% on everything but for the stuff I use it for I’m pretty happy with it now.

This should be amazing for your Tundra, but it just doesn't last.
I so wanted to love this head unit. It is massive and makes the 2nd gen Tundras look like modern cockpits. When it functioned, the screen was nice and bright, responsive touch controls, great integration with steering wheel controls...and then I was completely disappointed with my new pile of trash. Then at the 8 month mark, it completely died over a 24 hour period. First, the WiFi and Bluetooth went out, killing its ability to utilize Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. I followed all of Daisaita's trouble shooting, unit firmware was up to date. iPhone was updated to latest OS update, all apps updated as well. After removing the unit from the truck and on the bench, unplugging the WiFi chipset from the mother board (as per Daisaita's website fourum troubloeshooting procedures), I was able to get the unit to boot into Apple CarPlay...for about 10 seconds, then the unit rebooted, and the screen died.Unit is a $500 doorstop now. Just a hunk of junk and sadness. It was so good while it lasted, but not those days are quickly passed by. I not installed a Sony XAV-ax3200 that I had unused, with a Scosche install kit. the Sony is running just fine, no issues. No lag in bootup either! It starts when the truck starts (unlike the Daisaita which takes upwards of 1 minute to boot up). *During boot up of the Daisaita, your backup camera is inoperable - yes, you have to wait about 1 minute before putting your truck in reverse to use the camera! So I guess, even when it worked, there were a few things I didn't like about it.Regardless, like so many reviewers who I ignored, just skip the allure of this overpriced pile of junk. Get a reputable head unit from one of the trusted companies (Sony, Alpine, Kenwood, etc). Sure, you're only going to have about 7" of screen instead of the 10" widescreen of the Daisaita, but you won't be replacing the legitimate head unit any time soon for a catastrophic failure.

Fits 2017 Tundras perfectly
I upgraded the head unit in my 2017 Tundra to this Dasaita G13 unit primarily for CarPlay. What I was amazed by was the ease of installation, the fit, and the incredible boost to the sound quality of my stock speakers. Similar head units are nearly double the price for the same features and functionality. The cons of this unit don’t outweigh the pros but I should let you know them:- CarPlay is wireless only and the audio will skip randomly.- Screen Brightness at night is too bright even at the lowest level. I get around this by using an app called Twilight that places overlay on the screen to simulate dimming.- The system audio gain is set a little too high (+10) by default. I would recommend turning this down to about +7 to prevent any issues with factory speakers.- Install manual is pretty straightforward but leaves you guessing at times when all you have is a picture or youtube video to reference.

Low quality
This unit is easy to install and set up ,the problem with it is staying connected and having clean clear music ,every time you start the truck the unit starts over from home page and you have to select exactly what you want to play.It connects to car play very well but if you are driving and streaming music it constantly skips the music sometimes constantly other times very little but I have a amplified system and when you pause 4k watts of music its shocking and makes me want to use it for target practice. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this unit. My son bought one against my opinion and his is dead after 3 months of using it also his backup camera wouldn’t work and his steering wheel controls didn’t work, it was installed correctly as it is plug and play …. Trash go with alpine ….

Perfect for 2nd gen Tundra trucks
This is a legit and workable device. It fit perfectly well for the specific type of car it was designed for, not to mention all the functionalities working as expected. Couldn't be happier
