Good quality
I was concerned with the low cost of this sheath that it would be cheap quality thin canvas that would slice open against the hatchet blade. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. This thing cost like 6 bucks so don't expect the world's finest craftsmanship, but it's definitely adequate. The nylon is thick enough to remain durable if you're not doing something weird with it, the rivets are solid, and the velcro is well-affixed to the nylon. The patch of velcro is large enough to allow for adjustments according to length of the hatchet blade. My Fiskars hatchet fits perfectly, and this is a great replacement for the crappy little plastic clip guard that came with that otherwise great hatchet, which was destined to break promptly. This sheath may not last a lifetime, but it'll last several years for sure so I would have no problem replacing it with this same sheath when that day comes.

Protect your tools
My nephew was helping me with yard work and unbeknownst to me, left the unsheathed axe and the sheath outside when he was done. Needless to say, both were damaged when I found them. The sheath could not be saved. This sheath I found fits perfect and protects the axe very well and is easy to put on and take off.

a bit small for me, but good nonetheless
a tiny bit small for my axe (a Hyper Tough 1.25lbs axe) but it fits with some finagling, so overall a good sheath

Buy this!
I love it! Exactly what I was looking for. It fits Ozark Trail 1.25lbs Wooden Handle Hatchet, Axe, Model 5039 perfectly! Gives the protection that my budget hatchet from Walmart was lacking. Ozark trail only lncluded a plastic guard that was just for packaging I'm assuming. This sheath was much needed, and it has a belt loop as well, which is a plus!
