My favorite tea. Smooth taste, never gets bitter or develops tannic acid astringency. I have bought this repeatedly over the years.

I used to drink republic of tea coconut pu erh loose leaf but it was quite expensive, and I didn't always want the coconut flavor. So, I tried this very economical brand. I think I have found the best way to brew it with a bit of experimentation to get the best flavor profile.1) First I put the tea bag in a cup and add about a 1/4 cup of boiling 212 degree water. I dunk the bag a few times and then quickly discard the first "flush" brew.2) Then, I pour a full cup of boiling water over the tea bag again and let it steep for about 1 minute. Next, pour off about half of that cup and add more boiling water to top the cup off.3) I let it steep another 4-5 minutes and then add some agave or honey and a splash of oat milk.Voila ! a beautifully mellow and still very flavorful cuppa.*The flushing process gets rid of some of the more pungent / fishy notes all pu erhs can possess.

I found Pu erh tea in an Asian market that I loved! However, they stopped carrying it a few years back and I've searched for one with the same flavor. Most had a "fishy" taste or smell that I just couldn't stomach. But THIS tea is exactly what I was looking for! And being in individual tea bags make it much more convenient that the loose leaf for me. Will be ordering this one often!

I have always enjoyed this tea. I have tried many more of the expensive pu-ehr type teas, and the simplicity and taste of this one is still my favorite. I don’t drink this tea for any kind of weight loss promises. I just like it.
