I was so nervous to use this because I have naturally curly hair and did not know what to expect with the steam feature because for ethnic hair, once steam or water touches the hair, the hair reverts back to your natural texture. It did good with straightening my hair and with the steam too however I think the next time I straighten my hair; I will do it without the steam feature.The design of this flat iron is so pretty and sleek. It was easy to use too. The only thing I didn't like was the setting button location. I wish it was outside of the flat iron and not inside. Also, the glove had 3 fingers, but I wished it had 5 fingers.

Hello friends, I selected this monat steam hair straightener flat iron for hair styling.I have to give props to the packaging of this item. It is so giftable and so pretty. It's all white and metallic purple in a quality sleeve and box. The unit itself is white. I highly recommend using distilled water in order to ensure the life of the product. Refilling the little cistern isn't difficult. The steam lasts through a whole head of hair at medium length. Longer haired folks will need to refill the cistern again. I think it's a really great product for day old straightened hair versus newly washed hair. It adds a little moisture just enough to make hair fresh. It also keeps the hair looking healthy versus dull. The steam does go shooting out of the top so be careful not to burn yourself or anyone passing through the area you're fixing your hair. There are two things I don't like about this product. One, is the controls being on the inside of the handle versus the outside. You have to be extra careful because you have the plates wide open while trying to adjust it. Two, why does the glove only have three fingers? I need all five covered. I can't be accountable for watching the ring finger and pinky.

The media could not be loaded. This Steam Iron product is absolutely fantastic! I had it tested on one of my teen daughters with the fullest head of medium length curliest hair (3B curl pattern). It took under 30 minutes for her to achieve perfect results that exceeded our boldest expectations and were by far the best we were ever able to achieve in a home setting. The set comes with the steam iron as well as a hand glove for heat protection, a hair comb and a little water bottle for refilling the water tank.3. Wide plates design is just right to be able to work close to the roots yet efficiently get through the rest of the length as well.4. There are various temperature settings and and clear guidelines of temp needed for different hair types.5. Steam function is optional to use but really helps to tame even the most stubborn curls while leaving the hair looking radiant and feeling literally nourished and infused with moisture - love it!6. The set is very intuitive to use right out of the box, yet instructions included are in multiple languages and are super clear should you need help.7. The price is highly competitive for this professional grade product.CONs (minor if I must think of any):1. I would have preferred to have all of the operating controls on the outside of the iron, but they are located on the inside just outside of the plates.2. The three finger glove looks cool but regular 5 finger glove would probably serve even better at fully protecting from steam/heat.Overall, I cannot recommend MONAT Steam Dream enough.

I'm impressed with the packaging of this item; it's beautifully designed and perfect for gifting. The unit itself is high quality, with really pretty coloring. Refilling the water tank is easy, and the steam lasted the entire time I was straightening my thick hair. While the controls being inside the handle and the three-finger glove are minor drawbacks, the product's performance is excellent and suitable for various hair types.
