Loved the book, but it needs and ending
Loved the book! I have been a big fan of The Land of Stories series. The only thing was the ending. There was a pretty big cliffhanger at the end of the fourth book and an even BIGGER one at the end of this one. I don't mind the occasional cliffhanger, but there needs to be some resolution. In this book it felt like we were just tying up lose ends from the last book, and then we were finally getting to the point we were before, and then boom, the book ended. Just as we were getting somewhere, all the progress stopped. I can't blame you for keeping us in suspense though! all in all, I enjoyed the book, but I JUST GET REALLY HUNG UP ON ENDINGS! They can really make it or break it for me.I also wish more characters from the last book could've been incorporated into this one. For instance, Arthur and Merlin were a big part of the last book! I felt like there should've been more than just half a chapter about them.I read really fast,( I also think the fifth book could've been longer! It did not feel like 439 pages!) so after that I finished the fifth book, I instantly went looking for the next one. I couldn't find anywhere that there's even going to be a sixth book! I really hope there's an update on it soon, because there wasn't even supposed to be a another book and I need at least a confirmation that there is one!I recommend reading this book if you have already read the rest of this series, but if you haven't you DEFINITELY need to go back and read the first four, or you will be REALLY confused. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the ending, but I still loved the book anyway and hope the sixth comes out soon! Thank you for reading my EXTREMELY long review!

Colfer Takes Alex and Connor's Adventure to the Next Level!
Olivia's Review; I've eagerly anticipated this next installment in the Land of Stories, and it hasn't disappointed! The characters were all spot-on, and I loved getting to see Connor's imagination through his stories and how they reflected the Bailey twins's adventures. The writing was humorous and fast-paced - there was never a slow moment in the story. The plot was exciting and suspenseful, a perfect read for kids of all ages. I fell in love with this series a while ago and am thrilled that there will, indeed, be another book in the series after this one. Overall, an exciting, action-packed, super creative, funny, clever fifth installment to the Land of Stories!Reviewed by a 12 year old girlOscar's Review: I really loved this book. In every chapter when you thought something was going well, the ship would sink and everything would be submerged and the story would be shaken. I really don't have that much to say about this book because I love it so much, but I do have one thing: most who read this book will love it as they've loved, in turn, the first, second, third, and fourth books in the series. There was also a HUGE, interesting, and unexpected twist that really shook up the story and increased the suspense and excitement levels by a tenfold. I think this book would really appeal to reluctant readers because it is an action-packed, fast-paced fantasy story that pulls you into the book from the start.Reviewed by a 9 year old boy(reviewed by the Kid Book Reviewers, siblings ages 9 and 12 @ (...))

My seven year old daughter LOVES this series!
She has read all six, and smuggles the books into school where she tries to read them in class. Her teacher has actually corrected her about trying to read them in the middle of her lessons.

...a subconscious map to places only he has imagined
Stories within a story... I was drawn into this story’s stories pretty quickly. Does that even make sense? It doesn’t have to make sense. Its a fairytale. This book is all about Connor. You see, Connor is the author of these four stories and he has found a way to go into his stories to recruit a few of his own literary characters to save the worlds. Both worlds.Connor has matured and he is beginning to understand how and where he fits in. These are Connor’s stories; but, ohhhhh, they are so much more than that. They are his path to self discovery... a subconscious map to places only he has imagined and like most authors, he has left his finger print on every single page when he writes. I love it!

Book Idea
O.M.GOODNESS. Chris Colfer, you MUST write another Land of Stories book! They are so good, I stay awake until 12:00 at night reading them. Here is a book idea for you: Connor goes back to the land of stories with his literary army to try and defeat the literary villains. On the way, he meets a girl who can help him with Alex. He decides to trust her, and let's her go to the Otherworld to stop Alex from destroying all of humanity while he saves the Fairy tale world from the literary villains. You can make the special details, but it would mean so much to me if you could make the next book like how I described. I understand if you can't. And if you don't or can't read this, then I guess someone else will pass the message ( hopefully ) Chris Colfer, you are my favorite author, and helping create a book for you would mean so much to me. Thank you so much whoever is reading this, and if you have a way to get it to Chris if he can't read this, that would be fantastic! Thank you again, and good day. - Charlie

A bit busy.
I’ve been enjoying this series but this instalment seemed trickier to read and I lost interest part way thorough. I ploughed on knowing that I enjoyed the others. There just seems to be too many characters. It got too confusing and a little bit boring when every character in a scene had to say something. It was all a bit of a jumble and having literally just finished, I couldn’t name all the characters. There were also a number of terms/words which were used in the wrong context or just wrong. Authors should not be making these mistakes and if they are, they should have been picked up on in editing.Previously in the series I have been able to forget that it is a book written by an actor (who wouldn’t have had a book deal had he not been on Glee) and get lost in the story. This instalment truly felt like it was written by Connor. A child. It felt rushed and crowded. My only incentive to read the next one is based on my enjoyment of the previous books.

A great series of books!
Bought originally as a gift for a Glee fan, I decided to give these books a go. Very presently surprised - well constructed and full of twists and turns to keep the pages turning. Loved them so much I have bought the rest of the series. Highly recommended for fantasy fiction lovers!

A wonderful new instalment
Colfer's The Land of Stories continues with a fun ride through the imagination of his protagonist Conner. Creative, hilarious, inspiring and enjoyable, this brand new adventure will keep you giggling throughout. I loved learning more about what goes on in the characters' heads, and each brilliantly zany adventure adds to the delight. A must read for fans of the series, with a wonderful meta twist!

My daughter still love this series
My daughter has loved this series since she was around 7 and eagerly awaits each new book as they come out each summer. Each year after she has devoured the book. she would write to Chris Colfer asking him to continue writing this series because she doesn't want the adventures to end. :-)
