The missus broke the 3 pin plug on her best hair straighteners, oops, so after i had run for cover, I ordered this as a direct replacement and had it delivered next day which was well worth it, as the grief I would have had if it was any longer would not bear thinking about, lol. Luckily when it arrived it only took a minute to sort the plug out and all is working as it should now. It's a good sturdy design for the money and seems a safe plug for the job it has to do.Seems that most of these hair devices now have a two pin European plug molded onto the cable these days and these type of adapter plugs are then clipped over them and screwed together to suit our British 3 pin wall outlets. It's been over a year now since the plug was delivered and fitted so I am doing this review now knowing I can recommend it does the job well and is fit for purpose. There are cheaper scary ones about so beware as we all know cheaper isn't always the best idea when it comes to safely fixing your electrical devices.

This is the right 2 pin Euro plug to 3 pin UK plug adapter. Contrary to a lot of low-priced shams available, this one is reversible, i.e. you can mount a euro plug in it, and unmount it later, to return your device to a euro plug. It has a phillips n°2 (standard) screw that you can screw AND unscrew. Plug footprint is equivalent to the footprint of a standard UK 3-prong plug (contrary to some other products).Some cons (minor, but to take into consideration): first, you can plug the opened adapter in a live outlet, so it is not safe if you let it opened. But if you are tinkering with plugs, you should 1) be very careful 2) know what you are doing, and the associated risks. Also, the hinge is not a mechanical one: the whole plug is a molded plastic piece - so don't manipulate it too much.

I found myself purchasing 2 of these plugs as light fittings I received came with a European 2 pin plug. After reading through the reviews of some plugs (I was initially going to buy a shaver plug..oops) I decided this was the best option, at a pretty good price. The plugs were so simple to use simply unscrew 1 phillips screw to open the hinged plug insert the two pin plug in the slots and tighten screw. All good simply resembles a normal plug it's secure and fused so have that safety precaution. Another plus with the simple turn of the scew you can use the plug elsewhere unlike some plugs which are a onetime use and require breaking to remove.

What a brilliant idea these adapter plugs are, the one I received is as much use as a " Chocolate Teapot" I could sent it back for a refund.However. this one is going in the bin so it will not be sent out again to disappoint another person... It will not fit a 2 pin plug but it will fit in my Bin!

What a brilliant idea these adapter plugs are. They turn a Euro 2 pin plug into a UK 3 pin plug in such a way that you can hardly tell you have used an adapter. You slide the euro plug into the adapter; close the lid; tighten the screw to secure it and you have what looks like a standard UK plug.This simple solution saves you from the hassle of cutting off the euro plug and fitting a new UK one. It's neat, simple and very secure.It's also a much better solution than the old-fashioned adapter plugs which were unsightly, bulky and not always very secure. I wonder why has it taken so long for someone to come up with this brilliant solution.
