Perfect for listening to music and audiobooks
I love this little music player. I wanted something I could use to listen to music and audiobooks without using my phone. This does the trick nicely. I can download my audiobooks from audible and my music from Amazon music over WiFi without any cables or needing to connect to a pc and listen to them whilst on the go. Anything you usually get the app on the App Store for, you can use. It’s incredibly versatile. The battery is great, the music quality is good through earbuds, the build is solid, the portable size is just right, and it screams class. I wish there were more accessories for it, but the player itself is amazing. Not the cheapest, but not expensive, and it is well worth it. Very happy with my HIBY. It’s like a smaller and better version of the old classic IPod and exactly what I wanted and more. The only thing it lacks is dab radio when not in WiFi range, but does have fm and means my other half is less likely to pinch it to listen to the match whilst out and about.

Another step forward for DAP’s
Like a lot of people I suspect, I had fallen into the routine of using my smartphone for listening to music, as it’s super easy to have all your music in one place and it goes everywhere with you.Not that I am an audiophile, but I always want to get the best I can from my devices, and that meant using a separate DAC/AMP with my phone and wired headphones. Generally this works, but what it does introduce is a heap of usability issues of having to carry cables, adapters, two devices and finally headphones. This for me was not sustainable.Enter the HiBy Digital M300. My main aim was two-fold, I wanted a player that would simplify my set up, and secondly would sound good. My previous DAP (Activo CT-10) fixed the first ask, but the second, sound quality was very lacklustre. So after a lot of watching reviews, I wanted a device that was small, connected to the major streaming platforms (I personally use Apple Music), and would allow me to store my music offline. It came down between this and the HiBy R4, but in the end, the specs are very similar and the M300 is smaller.I have been using the M300 for a few days, and I am not disappointed on two fronts. Firstly, for a small device, it is perfectly usable for someone with big hands like me! The Android 13 software whilst not lightning quick, is fast and responsive, and my music library of over 300GB of downloaded music scrolls perfectly well. The other aspect was the sound quality, and I am pleased to say this is a marked step up from my last DAP device. Using no EQ, MSEB or PEQ at all, I have found the M300 to sound clean, crisp and fairly neutral. I have used a variety of headphones and IEM’s including a pair of planar magnetic beasts, and whilst I have to push to volume from the M300 to +70% they drive them fine and sound good. All this in a small, compact and flexible device that can sit in a pocket and I avoid cable hell!I bought this through Amazon warehouse, and got a bargain at £149. In my opinion, this is excellent value for money at full price, offering a lot of functionality and great sound quality for everyday listening.I use Apple Music along with a microSD card in the M300 to store my downloaded high resolution lossless files. Works perfectly.

Very good value mp3 player.
For the price, it has a good sound and is well made and a reasonably good player.Android 13 works well on the player, down loaded Audify from the app store to replace the hiby music app which i think is a lot better and more premium player. This is a budget player, probably a lot better with good quality files than your phone, but not as good as an astel&kern or Fiio player at 3 times the price.

Good yet difficult to set up
Although I gave five stars I do have concerns. Firstly, I admit it sounds great with a pair of lossless earphones. That said there were no instructions and it took me week to set up.Okay, I know you are thinking it's Android and any idiot can use Android. Well, yes and no. Yes, it's easy to use but it took a week to get half my playlists downloaded in lossless quality and working. Furthermore, there were periods of thinking the thing wasn't working and hours of searching Reddit for solutions. In the end I had to do things like go into Developer Mode and change the battery settings; transfer my playlists from Spotify to Tidal (not free); change settings so it didn't go into deep sleep when downloading songs; wait long periods of time while it buffered after downloading playlists and suchlike.Perhaps it was just me but setting up seems to need instructions which are definitely lacking. Yet now it's working I love it despite the fact that I considered returning it on several occasions.

Learn Chinese!
The player came in a box with no instructions, so the first issue is trying to set up the player in English! After 2 hours of taking photos for google translate I managed by luck! to change to English - the radio is very tinny, the whole OS was slow, with Chinese still on various apps, so my experience was dire! size was good, screen was clear, easy to connect to WiFi, but apart from this my advice is steer clear, there are much better players with easier OS and they have instructions!

OMG
I bough HibyDigital M300 player as it allowed me to install my own apps from Play Store. I did not want to spend hundreds of pounds and still have HiRes wireless audio. I upgraded from my beloved FiiO M6 which I absolutely adored, but I had it for quite some time now and it was time to upgrade. To sum up my experience: OMG! The sound quality blew my mind. Warm, full, sharp, basey, rich sound feels like listening to vinyl. PowerAmp allows to equalise sound, expand stereo base, allows gapless playback, I'm in heaven. All in a great, compact, stylish package running Android 13, WiFi, Buetooth 5. I watched many reviews about M300 and most of them were not very good. I glad I did not get fooled. People complain about the player being just like a phone. It's not. It's a DAP with a dedicated audio HiRes chip. And it's immersive, without phone distractions. And to have a best of both words, you can even download your favourite streaming app. Great to enjoy your collection of digital music.
