Kennedy's Revised Latin Primer

"The" Latin textbook for serious students of the ancient language. No frills, no distracting pretty pictures, just an indispensable grammar reference book. It was somewhat tentatively recommended to our Adult Education group by our Latin teacher who, accustomed as she presumably now is to the limited attention span of the young, was fearful that we might find it somewhat daunting. However, we oldies are made of sterner stuff and we have all now acquired copies - Thank You Amazon - and all agree we could not do without it. Seems expensive for quite a slim paperback, but worth every penny.

I've read so many books recently which contain Latin phrases and I'm so rusty it seemed a good idea to reach for an old Latin Primer. Having misplaced my own I was forced to buy one. It has revealed just how much I had forgotten but I am getting so much enjoyment from dipping into this - the best of all Latin Primers. Everything I need and will need is contained within its pages.

Excellent. No issues

An excellent little introductory grammar that still finds occasion for thoroughness. Since before my birth this primer has taught people and done so well.Personally, I find it better as a companion in an educational sense to a less grammar-heavy main course (think LINGVA LATINA or VIA LATINA) and would suggest the use of a thorough reader alongside it (of which there are countless available).As a companion to actual text, such as De Bellum Gallico (to use an introductory work) it's effective and will clear up those little misconceptions a simplified reader may leave struggling with.

Simply the best primer.

Essential for any student of Latin.
