Whether youre a beginner or an expert crochet artist, you should always invest in good quality hooks. Clover is always my go-to brand. The shape of the hook is one of a kind, perfect for smooth and effortless crocheting. I use both the Armor hooks and the soft touch and both of them are well suited for my style of crochet (I work with my hook overhand like a pencil, so these hooks might not suit your needs if you use the hook differently. I wouldn't know) I'm a well-seasoned crochet artist and people ask me to teach them all the time. When I actually do teach people how to crochet, I always make sure to give them a Clover hook. It's very well suited for beginners and even experts at both slow and fast pace. I would also like to note that when my grandmother first tought me how to crochet, she gave me a Clover hook. She's been crocheting for decades and swears by them as well. She bought me a full set of Clover Armor crochet hooks for Christmas one year and they are still being used to this day! They are very durable. It's very hard to hurt one of these hooks. Overall, Clover is the best brand out there when it comes to these tools. It is my first and only recommendation for those who wanna get started, want to work on their speed, or even just to get better quality hooks.

These are my new favorite crochet hooks. For many years I used the old-style Susan Bates or Boye skinny aluminum hooks and was very satisfied. But as I got a little older I decided I should try something a little more ergonomic so I got one of these Soft Touch hooks and loved it so much I got them all! They're silky smooth as they move through the yarn and the short shaft suits me well. I hold my hook like a pencil and don't know if that makes any difference. I also find that they are less likely to split the yarn as I'm crocheting. They are a little pricey, but are so worth it, and buying them one at a time I could spread the cost over time. I'll use these for a good long time.

Very comfortable to use.

The hook is really nice but the handle is a hard plastic and weird shape for when I knife hold my hook, which causes hand fatigue, but I switch between knife and pencil occasionally, so when I hold this pencil it doesn't bother me. But the hook is really smooth and I don't have any snagging when using this. But it is also pretty short and the plastic handle digs into my palm when holding it in knife position.

Initially I thought it was a little small, I have big hands. But once I got used to it, the hook has been amazing. It’s light, so I can hold it very gently so my hands don’t tire out or cramp. The short handle with the lightness also make it very easy to manipulate. I crocheted the entire solar system for my son, with this hook and loved it. I have also purchased the other sizes and find them to be just as good. The hook is smooth, no burrs. The handle is hard but very comfortable and the rubber grip is placed perfectly for my thumb.
