Absorene Book Cleaner and Dirt Eraser (Bundle- 2 Items) for Cleaning Dirt and Dust Off Books and Documents

I was skeptical that this product would work, but I needed something non-abrasive to clean dirt & light markings off of my comic books. This product was recommend by many people, so I decided to give it a try. This really works amazing! Truly. I wasn't very keen on the price of the product initially, but after using it—I can see that this product is absolutely indispensable and a must-have. The product description says this is unscented, but be aware that the sponge eraser has a very strong rubber chemical scent. Likewise, the putty has a very strong odor that's reminiscent of Play-Doh. Overall, this product is excellent and works as described. This works best for light stains, and gentle use—especially on comic books.

Super well known product that just does it's job. It's not for aggressive cleaning and is not designed for that.

The magic sponge, sort of a modified gummy eraser works well for cleaning off light dirt and peciln markings from books. One swipe and you can see the dirt on the sponge. It’s sturdy, you don’t need to put much pressure on it. Just begin at one side of a page, and gently run across the surface in one direction. Do not rub back and forth, or in spirals, just lightly and gently in one direction, and repeat until clean. The putty cleaner works by rolling a rod of it in your hand, then roll across the surface of the book your cleaning. Great for delicate paper. Never rub, just roll in one direction all over the page. When the eraser is dirty, you can knead it to a cleaner spots and continue. Great for light soot, dirt, dust. I use it to gently clean the surfaces of old books, and found that it works extremely well. Just remember not to scrub, or put much pressure on either. Though it may take an extra few wipes, doing so will maintain the integrity of the paper. I recommend this for used books. A great product if you use it correctly.

I wonder how big of a secret these products are? They work very well and I only wish I had discovered them decades ago. Have an grungy postcard: let Absorene clean it!

The products are ok but not great. The “sponge” gets dirty quickly but I have no idea if it can be washed. The cleaning “dough” reminds me of playdoh. It works only fairly to clean my books. The “sponge” works better. I am on the hunt...the products arrived quickly and in good order.

Recently purchased some older periodicals that were wet at some point and had some issues with dirty and mildew. I used this product kit to thoroughly clean each and every page of the periodicals, which were about 50 separate magazines with about 100 pages each. It was a bit of a process to say the least, but these products works very well for what I needed them for, which was removal of dirt and mildew staining. I would buy it again and recommend it to others.

This is a pretty awesome product for cleaning dirt and grime off of valuable comics or books. I practiced on older, tattered comic books and found it to work very well. It's a slow process as the play-dough/silly-putty type material incrementally cleans as it lifts off dirt and some stains. So using this requires patience. Absorene works excellently when used with a Magic Eraser sponge. You take off the bulk of the grime with the Magic Eraser (CAREFUL: Magic Erasers are extremely abrasive and can easily damage the paper), then remove more dirt with the Absorene putty. Alternating between the 2 (Magic Eraser - Absorene - Magic Eraser - Absorene) gave me the best results. The Absorene picks up the dust generated by the Magic Eraser, so use the Absorene last.

Don't buy this product. Doesn't work at all. Total waste of money. I had same problem as everyone else. it falls apart into tiny pink pieces when you try to erase a little harder because it doesn't work the first time.If I could have given it zero stars I would have
