As good as a Remoska any day and half the price!
I bought this initially for in our Motorhome but it has since taken over at home as well. Heats things up much quicker than the oven and much hotter too. I am saving so much in energy bills. Whilst cooking I heat the plates on top. Great for cooking a 1lb loaf ( there is only two of us). I heat the Remoska for 5 minutes and then add the risen dough, cooked in 40 minutes. I make bread most days so image what I am saving by not heating a whole oven to 240 degrees. I have seen the bad reviews about the peeling coating, I can only guess by the dirty look of the photos that the item is a used return that has been sent out which is not good enough. Mine was brand new and immaculate and remains that way. Totally delighted to see them back in stock as I just may order a second!!

Bought for use in France as so much cheaper than a Remoska
This product is fantastic for the price. The 5 heat settings are useful. It works as well as a product twice the price (if delivered to France) and if it last as long as my previous Remoska which got the 'blue lid' problem I will be very pleased. Use it almost every day.

Useful every day cooker.
This is a very useful, versatile cooker. I use it every day and cook nearly everything in it. I hardly use my oven as this does everything except really large joints of meat or a turkey. It is economical, easy to clean and store. It makes lovely cakes, superb roast potatoes and because the temperature is variable it cooks just about everything. Brilliant piece of kit.

Good customer care cannot be undervalued
I received the cooker rief to cook.. the ref light intermittently went out. I thought that this was unusual as I have had an excellent Ramoska for years and loved it and the red on/off never switched off. I tried to ring customer services but was immediately cut off. So I contacted amazon technical support. The officer tried the manufacturer on my behalf. He also could not get a reply. I therefore decided that the manufacturer of the oven customer care was extremely poor. So I returned the oven.. I do have to say though that the customer care that was provided by the amazon customer care officer was excellent

Czech Cooker - Made in China
Well that was a surprise ! At one time these may have been made in Slovakia / Poland - move over E.U.Comment also noted re this on Amazon.comA mini portable oven but so much more .......This advertised as Total Chef.Ours did NOT arrive in Total Chef Box despite Amazon Warehouse saying it would.Ours said Koolatron who are Total Chef and major corporate owner is LentekThey are most likely ALL now made in China so maybe should be called 'CZECH TYPE COOKER'Not cheap however there are a few plusses that make this a most useful product .............. this is a long review!470W - Variable Thermostat = Temperature control10a 220-240V 2.4 kg which means it could be used on a boat or Camper with inverter or hook up or in a power cut from a low Watt generator e.g 1 KW and above or indeed used outdoors connected to an extension cord. HIGHLY VERSATILE MINI COOKER.Small enough to use in the home and could easily feed 1-4 from reasonably capacious 3L size pan - (this is 1.0 litre larger capacity than a present day 'Standard Remoska')Work space required approx 35 cm x 45 cm surprised us too, and further space to put lid down on its own separate stand. The x2 stands will almost nest in each other with cooker on top.The smaller 'Oven' space in these Czech Cookers means they will heat up relatively quickly and can be used to Roast /Fry/ Braise or Simmer or defrost or Slow cook, using the VERY USEFUL Thermostat Dial - UNLIKE others with FIXED temperature this offers VARIABLE temperatures - BRILLIANT!A lot of people will instantly compare these to Remoska and looking at Lakeland reviews there are issues with later models. This arrived not in product box as was an Amazon Warehouse sale - USED although ours had not been used, just marks that downgraded it to A Grade , 2 very small metal depressions in lid from over zealous Chines worker screwing on lid and very small glass scratch.Well packed in original polystyrene casing with instruction book included 9 recipes and basic instructions. On our Koolatron User guide CUSTOMER CARE CONTACT NUMBER : Tel contact number 01634 29 7383 is DEFUNCT- We tried it and another reason for loss of a Star1 Year Warranty although believe all EU supplied Electrical goods should be 2 years ...... (Amazon Warehouse it's 1 year apparently.) There is an option to buy further warranty via Amazon.Amazon are great at customer after sales support so will monitor this .........and we called Amazon regarding this listing who were as ever most supportive.Unlike other mini cookers and in our opinion a definite PLUS , the this Czech Style cooker is supplied with a variable Thermostat dial marked 1- 5 not in temperature and these will only show approximate readings of actual heat :Dial PositionOFF - There is NO CLICK to turn off1. 90 C / 195 F2. 110C 230F3. 130C 265F4. 150C 300F5. 180 C 356 FAn orange light by the thermostat dial goes on when operating but ours also operates at lower temp........ between OFF to 1 , and could be used as a slow or 'Keep Warm' facility. There is NO definite Click for OFF but with dial on OFF it appears to be non functional - NO heat as expected.Another PLUS - Fitted with 3 pin plug and ours has a thick power supply cable - Cable is 90 cm and is fitted with a simple 'Plug in to Lid' single metal probe with integral Dial Thermostat . N.B. Important to keep power cable away from pan when cooking. This power supply cable with thermosat DETACHES from the lid unit unlike 'competitors' that are hard wired into handle.A long probe fits securely into the COOKING LIDNote: Power probe should fit so dial is up and in view. (Basing on a previous customer review comment about theirs being upside down). The thermostat heat selector dial will work just like an oven, tripping on and off when temperature reached switching back on when required. There is an orange light next to the Temperature Dial that shows when working or 'Resting' , (orange light off) , signifying there is enough residual cooking heat going on inside pan just like in a conventional oven.HOW IT WORKS ? Clever simple design 'All around heat'Basically it's a concealed single heat ring built into the lid- The heat travels through the pan outer including base as the heat ring rests on pan rim, so you have all round heat and residual heat near pan top , not just from base or just the top . Food can be browned just like in an oven if thermostat Dial turned up enough. e.g for Toad in Hole , Bread and Butter pudding etc. On Max heat the pan and lid will get VERY HOT. Because there is a ring of heat baking parchment can be used to blind hotter cooked area enabling centre cooking will be consistent.TO CLEANINNER and OUTER TOP (Heating) LID : Allow to cool and wipe with a damp cloth - Should NOT ever be immersed in waterTHIN Aluminium Base pan is coated in All over 'non stick' - NOT TEFLON - Loses 1 *The ringed sealed element in the lid also features x1 air / steam vent a useful safety feature to release inside pressureThe bottom of underside of the lid is 'Non Stick' coated , so easy to wipe clean - (Unlike access to say an Air fryer) .....Smells a bit on first use and not unexpectedThe Lid is supplied with a useful separate additional stand however the lid CAN be rested UPSIDE down. **(NEVER lie lid with heat element down use stand supplied or you will burn through to Australia) .Lid however could be rested with heat element UP on a suitable heat proof work surface as it has x2 ' Lid lifter ' handles and the integral long handle thus making a stable tripod - the heated surface will thus be 6 cm above a work surface- just be aware that this heating top part gets hot.In the wrong hands potentially could be dangerous but this applies to all hot cook items !The cooking lid simply just sits on the 'non stick' coated pan so does not screw on and there is a USEFUL 11.5 cm diameter GLASS viewing porthole within this. The Top side of lid is stainless steel. The underside is coated in 'Non stick'. The lid can be rotated on the pan. The Pan sits on it's own separate stand that has x2 lifting handles- a useful feature to take pan to the table. There are x2 Stands supplied x1 for lid and x1 for basePan is 24.5cm at Top where the lid fits but take useful diameter of 22 cm and at base internally 19.5 curving to 20cm Depth of pan 9.5 cm but could add 3 cm for lid spaceBRILLIANT : Can confirm able to fit 'Air fryer 'accessories in this available on Amazon - see link 17.5 cm diameter Air Fryer Accessorieshttps://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073JLT35X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Certainly can cook with Pyrex /ceramic or metal bake type tins / roast rack inside - Just like a normal oven........TIP: Use a silicone mat on base of inner pan if worried about scratchingIN CONCLUSIONTotal Chef Czech type Cooker definitely Made in China - originally think Remoska now also made here too but were made in Slovakia and then PolandPROS:This 'Mini Oven 'that has a useful 3.0 litre capacity - in other words will fit a small whole small chicken or Roast + vegetables, Fry , Bake , Prove Bread , Make Pizza , Cake(s) Toad in the Hole , Yorkshire Slow Cooker etcRim diameter 24.5 cm at the top but take as a useable 22 cm and tapers to bottom of 20 cmWill update further on actual cooking as think this will take some getting used to how this Total Chef Koolatron 'Czech Type' Cooker works in practice.Think this is the best on the market for what is capable of doing and certainly a lot more feature rich than the competition because of the Variable Thermostat and ability to detach power cable from the cooking lid.CONS:- Iconic 'Old design' Invented after the 2nd World War , but as the saying goes 'If it ain't broke don't fix it '- Some of the competition have, and are paying the price ......... Chinese Q.C a concernYou will require a large cooking work space area PLUS area for Pan lid to be placed down Approx 35 cm x 45 cm for cooker and allow similar for Lid Stand with Top cooker placed on it'Non Stick' Coating needs to be watched for degradation especially where cooker lid spins on cook pan , and a shame it is a rather thin aluminium coated cook pan , not for use with metal utensils.Top cook component appears well made - but a little sharp in places , ours had minor blemish from over zealous Chinese worker screwing in lid components and small scratch in glass so there could be Q.C issues here.EYE WATERING PRICE but 50% less than a RemoskaFor what it is and it's manufactured provenance over a conventional Mini Oven, this will not suit everyone, however as the reviews so far go this item delivers in spades for convenience and versatility especially with ' Air Fryer' accessoriesWe knocked a star off for what we received and another because this Jury is 'still out' re some build quality / lack of Quality Control and customer service telephone number not functioning : (Ours had not been used just bad Q.C.For others similar priced models see Bravoska made in SLOVAKIA - Elliptical shape with variable temperature Max Wattage 1250W or the ETA PECENKA , more like a modern Remoska but 21st C design as opposed to 20th C with this one , features a square shape insulated top and glass window but not with variable Temp and may be actually made in SLOVAKIA........ or China !We could have old stock here - Purchased August 2018Thankfully bought from Amazon so if this misbehaves it will be returned within 30 days and and also have 1 years warranty from Amazon.UPDATE: 28th August Sadly RETURNED - Degradation of non stick after just 4 uses ! - Do not want in food and it is not Teflon or similar quality - If the bowl was thicker metal and the non stick was to a Western safety standard it would get 4 stars ****NOTE: 2 years warranty if bought new and not used via AmazonHope this helps ; )

Really pleased with this!
I bought this as an alternative to another (remoska )cooker, which I had some 9 years ago. It is very similar, with one major improvement, namely that it has a sturdy stand on which you can place the heated lid. This is really important as the lid contains the electrical cooking element and gets extremely hot. My only criticism is that the temperature control dial is not visible on the model I have, its underneath instead. As I have it permanently set to 'maximum heat' this is not a problem.Chicken cooks beautifully, and as others have said, if you add a little water, it provides a gravy too- also makes it easy to remove the skin and so lessen the fat content. I've also cooked fish, vegetables, heated up croissants, all with good results. When I have time I intend to experiment with other dishes. I am not yet using it for everything, but feel sure that would be possible. It is an excellent product.

Great little oven/slow cooker.
This is our second one which we use both at home and when away in our campervan.Have had the first one for 8 years, but dropped it and broke the handle, now repaired and used as a back up. Will take the new one away with us in the camper. Use this little oven atleast 3-4 times a week at home. They're great. Only use 470w max so good for all campsite electrics. Recommended.

Very handy but needs care to avoid burning yourself
This is old tech and overpriced. It works well and is great for cooking for one or two. My main concern is the burn hazard. I would never recommend it if there are children around to distract you! When you lift the lid off it takes up more counter space and you have two danger spots. You can melt the cable or burn your arm on the legs of the stand. And that's not even from the hot pan or roasting lid upturned. The pan is light so the whole can slip along the counter as you stir. 1st thing I did was put away the stand which hold the hot lid as it has no grip and slipped into me causing a severe burn on arm. The lid alone is better as it has rubber grip. Needs great care and danger aside I find it very useful
