Protimeter Hammer Electrode Heavy duty probe for concrete floors - 1kg The Protimeter Hammer Electrode is ideal for use when checking wood moisture levels at depth and can be utilised with most Protimeter moisture instruments. The ‘hammer’ electrode is strong enough for use with a hammer to assist driving the two long electrode needles into wood. Its pin-electrodes have insulated shanks and it is used to obtain moisture readings in wood up to 35mm below the surface, irrespective of surface moisture. This is a more meaningful (and less destructive) measurement than an oven-drying test which gives only an average moisture content instead of (what one wants to know) the highest moisture content. In buildings, it has been used for measuring moisture in floor joists without lifting floorboards. Please note that the Protimeter hammer electrode can not be used in combination with the Protimeter Aquant, Psyclone & Hygromaster models.
