Building Simple Model Steam Engines - Book 2

The book only arrived today but is in good condition and looks to be full of good information.

The book arrived promptly and well packaged, with correct postage pre-paid. The explanations and examples are well done for even the novice, me, to understand. I've just got my first model to run. I intend to build them all before going onto the big project I have in mind.

I love the writing style and humour of Tubal Cain. The book is a good introduction for anyone wanting to build steam engines. If you are a raw beginner in Model Engineering some parts can be a little hard to understand, but you don't have to be a pro to get enjoyment from the book. Some of the designs use castings which might not be available any more. However, the parts could be machined instead. A very enjoyable read.

plenty of nice little engines in this book to make, very pleased with it, good simple instructions and drawings, Tubal Cane is the Master.

An excellant book that compliments the first book Simple Model Steam Engines,it has excellant and well laid out plans and drawings of differant steam engines which can easily be constructed on the small lathe.The Models are very nostalgic and once completed make excellant presents or gifts.Buy the book and add some more engines to your collection as ive done.

excellent work

I received the 2020 printing of the 2002 edition of this book. Shipped from England with no problems in a nice heavy paper envelope. I haven't made anything from the book yet, but it seems straight forward with pretty good instructions in addition to clear plans and drawings, and some photos of the finished projects. Boilers as well as engines are included. One confusing thing is that dimensions are given in inches, drill sizes for holes are metric, and threads and fasteners are British threads, so some extra figuring will need to bee done for us residing the USA. I figure on converting the thread sizes to more common American threads and getting some metric drill bits to make it simpler to build one of the engines.

Very good basic designs

Esta muy bien, y tiene ejemplos prácticos, aunque me parece que le falta aumentar el grado de complejidad de los proyectos propuestos.

この本は同名の青い表紙前作に続き、蒸気機関模型の製作の解説をしています。模型とはいっても、構造は実物と同じで、燃料を燃やして作動します。内容は、著者の長年の経験に基づき、かなり専門的な事が書かれており、これを完成させようとすればﾄﾞﾘﾙ等の設備とかなり高度の工作力を必要とします。しかし初心者でも時間をかければ出来るはずです。これまでこの分野の本は日本語版ではあまり出版されたことが無く、貴重な一冊と言えるでしょう。
