Aussie Chiller Bushie Perforated Golf Hat

I purchased the XL size. If windy, it is just a tad loose for me (24" head measurement) but I'm guessing the L size would be too tight. I may try to add a strip of cloth within the band so it is a smidge tighter for me.On cooling, of course it is cool when flooding with ice water from the golf course jugs. When on the head awhile, it does not feel alot like a cooling effect when still wet. But it is probably cooler than my head would be with the hat on dry in the TX sun, so it probably continues to help. I bought it for the wide brim sun protection but more so for prevention of heat stress. Of course, it is mandatory to drink plenty of fluids when golfing in TX int the warm months. I do add water to it every few holes now that it is getting to be summer. I think it is a rather good idea.The hat does keep its shape nicely, dry or wet and after transport in the car, etc. There is not much headroom atop my head without hitting the hat top if I snug it down against the wind. It could stand another 1/4" height inside but not a biggie. It is lighter than you might think, when dry, but very ok.I would buy it again. I think the price is fair for the nice quality.

This is a beautiful, beautiful hat. The quality is outstanding. We first spotted the hat on a friend and asked about the name brand and whether he was pleased with his purchase. He told us it was an Aussie Chiller and that it was the best hat he had ever owned. He plays a lot of golf and loved being able to soak the hat in cold water before going out to play. He just poured more water on the hat when it started to dry out. The hat still looked liked new to me. I purchased one for my husband's birthday and he loves it. I know it's a casual hat but it still looks so classy!

Incredible durability! This hat went on my trip to Bermuda. I felt a bit odd because it is an Aussie "cowboy" hat, not a beachy hat. I also feel like one of those people who doesn't look good in hats.This hat protected my head from back-flinging branches and foliage in Thomas Moore's Jungle and the pouring rain. It was such a stereotypical "tropical rainforest" day of hiking. A tropical storm was passing away from Bermuda on the very day we hiked under the very thick foliage. (Figured that if we couldn't enjoy the beach, we might as well enjoy the jungle as it was meant to be enjoyed: with drenching rain showering bugs and thistles off of us.) The hat showed not a scratch from the leaves, branches, etc. wacking into my hat as I pushed forward.The next day the Bermuda sun was back and blistering. So, I went off to Horseshoe Bay to dip myself and even dipped this hat into the ocean! Yep. Not even when wet did this hat show discoloration, salt accumulation from the ocean dips, or any other signs of wear and tear. It kept its shape throughout!!Whether I look good in hats or not, I had a new appreciation for me in this hat! It's amazing. I think I would have preferred a larger circumference brim and a round gambler shape. I also would have liked a chin strap to hold it on my back, like a pair of glasses you remove from your face and dangle before you. I saw other people with those crushable canvas hats with mesh tops and draw cords to hold it on their heads. I liked that when they entered a store they could throw their hats back, but I had to carry mine.By the way, the elastic in this hat is also amazing. Without incurring hat head or squeezing me uncomfortably, it somehow suction cups this hat to your head. The hat rides quite high off your ears, so it is truly a bio-mechanical feat of engineering that I recommend to Amazing Feats of Science on cable. It resisted every strong gust of win and crashing ocean waves. :)

Great hat that stays cool damp much longer than its competitors. Nice styling and the fit is spot on. Don't expect this hat to work very well in humid climates. I live in low-humidity Arizona so this hat works fine. The lower the humidity, the better it works.

My favorite hat in the world. My first one lasted 5 years and that includes around 500 rounds of desert golf. I wasn't aware of the feature that allows you to lower the inner headband in the back of the hat and it makes for a tighter fit when it is windy. I just ordered my second one and am using it a lot.

I bought this hat as an alternate to an expensive Panama hat I have that I did not want to subject to weekly golf. It fit as described. I soaked it before wearing to protect it from stains. The form of the hat recovered quickly room the box. I wore it once in moderate wind and it stayed on my head without difficulty. It protected my eyes from the sun and did not obstruct my vision related to golf. The weather has not been hot enough to test the filler aspect of the hat, but it held the water after initial soaking and when I placed it on my head in the house I noticed how cool it was. I anticipate that it will function as advertised. If you would would like a reasonable alternative that is durable and affordable I would recommend this hat.

I bought it for vegas and was amazed at how it retained it's shape after being in a suitcase. It popped right out and into space. After you soak the hat and wear it, the sun evaporates the water and cools your head through some crazy science. It was 110 degrees by the pool when I was wearing the hat and i took it off and had my wife rub my hair and see how cold it was. CRAZY! Works best in low humidity climates but back in KY I wear it all the time at the pool and it does its job. You will be very happy with this hat!
