Work day don’t get rain delays: that fact inspired the design of the carhartt mankato jacket. Constructed of 10-ounce, 100 percent cotton canvas with a waterproof breathable membrane, its seams are fully taped for complete waterproof protection. Warm, too, the jacket’s also lined with nylon quilted to lightweight polyester insulation. It also features a stand-up collar plus a snap on/off detachable hood including an adjustable draw-cord closure and hook-and-loop closed front. The full-length front zipper has an interior storm flap and exterior storm flap with snap closure to protect against wind and rain. Storm cuffs also work to keep water out. Raglan sleeves enhance ease of movement, and the jacket’s cuffs feature an ergonomic-curved design carved out around the thumb to avoid added wear. The jacket features two chest pockets with flap closures, with the left one including a media port that lets you string headphone wires to a cell phone or medial player. The two large lower-front pockets feature zipper closures and storm flaps. In addition, all exterior pockets are edged in rubber for added durability. To keep wind out, the coat includes a tunneled draw cord at the hem and, for added coverage there is a drop tail.

OK But Runs Large Even For Carhartt
Beware this fits much larger than your standard Cahartt XL. The sleeves are also longer than usual. Seeing that it is all 100% cotton it should shrink a little in the washer/dryer.The build of the jacket is great. Made in China but still decent quality. I would have preferred a more firm cotton duck. This cotton used is a little too soft for me. I prefer a more durable duck like Carhartt uses on several of their jacket.Brown color is not as rich as shown in the picture ( I got mine from Carhartt).Somewhat warm but you will definitely want to layer for anything below 56 degrees IMO.

decided betwen this and the ketchikan
in line with the other reviewer here who bought a few jackets to test out, i picked up the ketchikan and this, the mankato.i decided to stay with the mankato.I'm 6'3 with long arms. my body type is a medium, so it's tough to find a jacket that has long enough sleeves/torso length to fit me that isn't overly baggy around my midsection. this was an absolutely flawless fit in a medium, even for my longer arms and torso. super comfortable.it's also warm due to the medium thickness quilted interior, but not suffocatingly warm like my other carhartt jacket.the ketchikan was more of a windbreaker/rain jacket. the mankato is definitely a fall/winter jacket.my favorite part about this jacket is that the outside isn't crinkly-plastic like a winter "tech" jacket. that was my primary reason for buying this cloth jacket, and it's perfect in that aspect as well.
