Didn’t last, no warranty, not genuine
I bought this sensor because my old one had oil inside the connection. Long story short, sensor lasted 8 months. I was left stranded a couple times on the side of the road. Both times I unplugged this sensor and both times, my Ex would start right up. I contacted seller for warranty exchange. They redirected me to Ford’s 1-800 warranty line. Ford said they don’t warranty parts sold off from Amazon. Amazon on the other hand can’t do much because it’s a third party seller. Therefore, stay away from this option and save yourself a headache and your money. On a side note, not a genuine Ford part. It does not have a serial number engraved to its base, it does not say Made in Mexico on its body and does not have the white paint dot that original OEM sensors have.

7.3 Hard Start, Low Power
Perfect fix for my 02 Ford Excursion. Vehicle began having hard starts and low power climbing hills towing my 9000 lb travel trailer. Ford stealer kept it for a week, charged me $75 bucks, and had no clue. During last 'no start', I read a forum comment saying that unplugging the ICP sensor (Injector Control Pressure) would set the computer to a default pressure, and that if it then starts, that diagnoses the problem. Crawled under hood where I was stranded, disconnected the sensor, and the engine started immediately. Forum commenter also said that if there was oil inside the connector (true for me), then the sensor was definitely defective. ICP sensor is located on the driver's side head near the front. Removal is a bit of a challenge, but I loosened the air intake tube and moved it out of the way. Be careful with your wrench near the back of the alternator. I briefly shorted mine against the battery connection. Either disconnect batteries or put duct tape over the terminal. The OEM sensor takes a 5/8' wrench fastened to the bottom of the sensor. If you have a crow foot wrench, great; if not, try regular 5/8 by prying with a long screw driver or other tool against back of alternator. New sensor install requires 27mm deep socket that you can buy at most auto parts stores. If I had this done at my Ford stealer, my cost would have easily been close to $1000. Figure I saved about $750. My Excursion has 240K miles. This is a fairly common problem for the 7.3.

Excellent part.
Excellent sensor. Had check engine light on intermittently but no code. Checked this sensor and noticed oil in the elec. connection which I read meant it was bad. Installed this sensor and cel went off and truck ran better. Can't go wrong with genuine Ford parts. Installed easily after I removed alternator in order to get a good grip on old sensor with channel locks.

Genuine OEM, works great.
I received a genuine OEM sensor, new in package. It installed readily after I applied some hydraulic thread sealant. The truck got some power back and the exchange was quick and easy. This fit my 96 and my 97 7.3 trucks.

Genuine OEM at a reasonable price.
Genuine OEM replacement part at a reasonable price. Every 7.3 Powerstroke owner should carry three spare parts at all times: 1). This ICP Sensor 2). A spare CPS 3). A spare IPR With these spares “on-board”, you will greatly diminish the possibility of needing a tow truck on the side of the road!
