This ring compressor does work but the tension screw region tends to bow out a little bit so you gotta be careful when putting in pistons with this tool to not break a ring.

Surprising quality for the price, thick and durable and held the rings on my Cummins no problem. Stands up to my snap on at work and not even half the price

I looked at several of these ring compressors on amazon starting at about $7 . I specifically chose this one over the less expensive ones because of the photo's and the assumption of a "brand name" Most of the others had photo's of the same basic item, but the ratchet system on this one appeared to be much better quality with finer teeth on the ratchet as well as a much smoother finish overall in the photo's in this listing. I decided this one is worth more to me because the photos show much nicer quality ratcheting system and nicer finish overall. I was very upset when I received the item and saw that it was the same "cheaper" version others were selling with an un-finished quality look as well as the coarse teeth on the ratchet. The two things I used to justify spending more money on were not the same as the pictures in the listing. I use the pictures in a listing to compare products as well as the written words. I also feel the pictures used in a listing should show the actual product you receive, and not a re-touched photo, or a photo of a nicer product to mislead you.

Work great simple tool dont think any manufacture can screw up
