Q: Is there a schematic available for this part?

Dear customers, Input can be connected to MCU / PLC signal control, power supply + power supply - is the power supply of output controlled equipment, out + out - is directly connected to load, such as motor, solenoid valve, etc.

Q: Looks like a handy board. Anyone know what the opto IC manufacturer and part number are?

The optos are labeled L217-A with a small lettering H39.

Q: Does it really need pwm signal to control it, or just any gpio signal would do? since it's just on or off, no need to dim the load.

Inputs are simple isolated optocouplers (just + and -). I am using with 5 volts (more or less) signals in my application. PWM inputs are an option that you yourself must generate. Output/input leds were activated with a 3 volt input during bench test. Of course input current increases with input voltage. [ I may have rated this circuit too high. Note that incorrect transistor mounting/pads/connections are used. Note also that this circuit is not back EMF protected for inductive loads.]

Q: Do you need a fuse between the device (say a motor) and the output of this board, or will the board handle any power issues?

You need inductive load protection if PWM'ing a motor. I suspect that heat will be the first load limit encountered. Don't believe the stated output current for any long duration of time. A fuse is cheaper than replacing circuits.
