RH within spec.
I have tested the meter at humidity levels of 100%, 75% and 32%. In each case the reading was withing 3% points and usually closer, so this is quite accurate over a wide range and could be used as a standard to calibrate the typical household humidity monitors. To obtain the most accurate reading, the meter should be in the same environment for 45 minutes. It does not need to be turned on during that time, just within the same area, and then turn the meter on and note the reading. Good accuracy can be obtained after 30 minutes, but small changes can still occur up to 45 minutes. The thermometer responds much quicker. So, I think this is a good humidity meter and clearly performs within spec. It cannot be calibrated, but performing calibration tests must be done with great care to get accurate results, and it is quite possible to make an error doing so. It is probably best that it can't be calibrated.I initially thought that the meter was off, but that was incorrect. The company was responsive to my first review and sent a new meter. I will be returning that meter because further careful testing revealed that the meter I purchased is performing well. But, the company response definitely indicates that they take their product seriously.

How efficient is it?
I use the ambient temperature setting most of all. The device works perfectly fine. It reads the ambient temperature and pretty accurate compared to what a room thermostat reads. It may be off, +/- by a couple of tenths as most. If the temperature in the space differs a few degrees drastically compared to the precious space, it will take the device a minute or so to calibrate to the current space, so it means waiting a bit, but it will get there.

Works fine
Quick temp and humidity readings. Temp reading the same as other thermometers in my house. Have nothing to compare the humidity readings to, but if the temp is accurate, I’m hoping the humidity is, too. No auto shut-off, so remember to manually shut it off.

Slow to register temperature changes
I'll admit, my use case for this thermometer / hygrometer is not typical. I work at as a snowmaker in the fall at a large ski resort. We use wet bulb temperature as a factor in adjusting the pressure / water settings on our snow making equipment. Temperature and humidity can very greatly from one part of the mountain to another so a portable way to check wet bulb temperature can be very useful.I have to carry this in my pocket as it does not have any way to attach a key ring or strap to it. And thus my body temperature always warms the thermometer up. If I were designing this, I'd add a place for ring or attachment point so that it could be carried more easily.I'll pull it out of my pocket and it might read 40 - 50 degrees wet bulb. Once I get it out away from my body heat, the reading will slowly start going down. But, it can take 5 minutes or longer to go from 40 degrees down to 20 degrees which may be the actual wet bulb temperature. So, the slowness for temperature readings is a negative for me.We have very expensive weather stations on some of our high tech snow making systems, so I checked it against a couple of those weather stations. Side by side, the expensive weather station would read (for example) 20 degrees wet bulb while the portable Mestek thermometer would ready 21.5. I consistently found it to be about 1.5 to 1.7 degrees higher than a more reliable source. On the whole, I found this product to be clever but slow and inaccurate. I am able to account for the inaccuracy, of course, but the slowness made it difficult to use for my application.

Works well
This MESTEK Temperature Humidity Meter works well and appears to be accurate. It comes with the meter, a screwdriver, two alkaline AAA batteries, and a manual. It's very easy to use. Hold the power button for a second-ish and it turns on with a backlit display, giving the temperature and RH. Holding the SEL for a bit over a second will switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Pressing the SEL will cycle between WB and DP measurements, which the manual gives some brief information about. The unit can then be turned off by pressing the power button. The humidity reading will update to the area's humidity pretty quickly. The temperature takes a bit of time. Even though the display itself updates every second or so, the temperature sensor itself takes a minute or so to get to the correct ambient temperature. Because RH relies on temperature, technically, the RH reading won't be immediately accurate until the temperature is, but the humidity sensor itself does appear to quickly and accurately update. It would've been nice if there was an option for absolute humidity though.

No bueno

Recomendable.

Mide mal, no sirve
