Perfect Fit for 2013 Kia Optima
Nice inexpensive fix for my 2013 Kia Optima LX. To ensure that the bushing NEVER slips off again, I also secured the transmission shift cable with zip ties, so use the included grease to lube the cable as well for smooth operation. To get to the cable, apply the emergency brake FIRST, use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the shift lock cover, poke the screwdriver down to release the shifter, then shift into Neutral. Using a little force, pull up on the edges of the shifter boot to pry it loose (it won’t break). Pull the shifter straight up. Then use a little force again to pull up the plastic casing around the shifter. The shifter arm should now be visible hanging off the transmission shift cable end. Remove the old bushing, lube the new purple bushing inside and out, push the flex end of the new bushing into the hole for the shifter and push the shifter and bushing over the pin for the transmission shift cable (see pic). To secure the cable like I did, drill some holes into the plastic structure to route zip ties through and tighten the zip ties (see pic). Remember to lube the transmission shift cable to reduce friction from the zip ties.

Fit my 2001 Grand Cherokee
2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee shift cable came off the bracket due to a worn bushing. I saw this and thought it could work. I deceided to just have the $315.00 cable replaced instead. I asked the guy at the shop to save the old cable part to see if this would work. When I got home I tried this bushing. It fit in the plastic piece and is very secure. Will recommend this to anyone.
