I used this paint to prime my car before painting. It worked very well in making a smooth, undercoat for the paint to set on. After winter, it looks like it is working very well. However, I do have one complaint with it: It says that it is for rusty metal, and i ground the rust off first, but it looks like the rust may be starting to return. 4 stars because of that. The 3 cans that I purchased stop work within seconds of use. I tried to clean the spray tip with mineral spirits which did nothing. All 3 cans ended up in the trash can. I had to buy 3 additional cans from a different manufacturer to complete the job i was working on.

Imagine that? It's spray paint, and it works on rust. I bought this for my gas lines that run outside the house then back inside with the cutoff valves. They were getting a little rust on them, so I coated them with this. It worked perfectly, and now the rust is nowhere to be seen. I felt I should have got the rust off first with sandpaper, but then thought, hmmmm, using sandpaper on a gas line just seemed like a darwin award waiting to happen. Anyway, the paint works, adheres quickly, and looks great. Highly recommend.

I used this primer on my skids and rock sliders for my truck, did a light sanding as prep work and then cleaned them with Mineral Spirits before spraying. After doing 3 coats on each side this stuff came sprayed evenly and consistently. I was able to use the whole can and not have any drip marks. If you're spraying a lot of stuff I suggest using a handle adapter as it won't be as hard on your hands. Don't forget to shake it a lot between sprays!

I used this on an outdoor umbrella holder with a weighted base. The stand only came in white and I wanted it in black, but I loved the Celtic pattern on the base of the stand, so I bought it anyway. It was just last summer, but it has already started to peel and rust.I used a wire brush to remove any loose pieces, then applied this primer, and then some Rust-Oleum black spray paint. It looks great and there is no rust breakthrough! Great primer...great product. You can always count on Rust-Oleum!
