LR BaggsElement Active System with Volume and Tone Control for Nylon String Guitar

Great Unit
I do professional guitar repair and installed this on a classical guitar I had built for myself a couple years ago. The system installed very easily, sounds good, and does exactly what I wanted it for; to basically be able to more easily record my classica guitar on songs. I really like the tone knob for contouring the sound. I havent played out with it live yet, but having installed a number of these on acoustic guitars for my customers, I have not gotten any complaints. There are more exotic pickup systems out there,(and Fishman's equivalent to this one is also good), but for non intrusive, easy installation, quality tone and price, these are hard to beat.I don't want to be the anti-gear snob, but I always get a kick out of players who are so ready to put down all acoustic guitar under saddle transducers, but seem more than willing to let the PA engineer butcher their sound in the front-of-house speakers that we really hear in the audience.

Best of the saddle pickups.
Incredible sound and control. Does require an experienced luthier to fully realize its potential; not a quick DYI installation. However, this need is common on the higher end items like this. For instance, variations in the saddle pocket as small as a few thousandths can make a difference in one or more string voicings and tonality. Other than that, it's a perfect stage pickup.

Three Stars
The pickup works well, although there is not much difference in tone.....
