Boschlaser measure PLR 40 C (measure distance up to 40m precisely, Bluetooth connectivity, measurement functions)

This Bosch laser measure comes with 2 AAA batteries so you can be using it in moments of receiving it.It emits a laser beam to make measurements, it reads the light reflected back with a sensor and displays the distance between the measure and the surface the laser beam hit.It can measure distance, area and volume.To measure distance simply place it where you need to measure from and point the laser at the far point, a wall is ideal or any flat hard surface, a chair back for example.To measure area do the same as above then do the other width measurement in the same way, it will then show you the area calculation.to measure volume, do as above but also make the height measurement, it will then display the overall volume.It can also measure continuously moving distance, it leaves the laser on and updates as the measure is moved, the display updates about every 0.5 of a second.The stored measurement in the memory uses one memory space and shows the minimum and maximum distances measured whilst in that mode.Minimum measuring distance is 15 cms (displayed as 0.150m)Maximum measuring distance is 50 metres (displayed s 50.000m)The manual is pretty thick, the same thickness as the measure itself in fact, mind you with 32 languages covered i’m not surprised.It is really easy to use and intuitive without the manual anyway, i was measuring distance and area in a few seconds from switching it on.The display is clear and bright and gives all relevant information for the job you are doing with it. measurements are all given in metres to 3 decimal points.It will store the last 10 measurements you make into memory that can be recalled later.Memories can easily be deleted to make room for new memory storesThere is a button to allow you to measure from the front or the rear of the measure and an on screen graphic shows how it is set, and when you recall stored memories the graphic is shown for that measurement how it was set when the measurement was taken.It does not work so well outdoors in bright sunlight of course, the laser beam needs to be easily seen by the sensor. It also struggles with reflective surfaces at distance, closer up it works perfectly.It comes in a nice carry pouch with belt loop for carrying it on your tool belt or bat belt depending on your chosen career (estate agent or superhero)

This laser measuring device is superbly designed and implemented. Upon opening the box you find the meter itself in a nice little storage case and a pair of AAA batteries to power it. The user manual is supplied under the cardboard inner and is quite a shock in terms of its size for what is a relatively small device. Admittedly the manual is multi-language, but it is about 3 x the size of the meter and about an inch thick, almost like a small novel :)But don't let the manual put you off the meter is simplicity itself to use. Simply fit the two AAA batteries into the back of the meter, then you have an on/off push button on the bottom right corner (small press turns it no, long press turns it off again).Upon powering up you are presented with a lovely coloured LED screen which displays the mode the meter is in. The initial mode is a simple distance measurement (up to 50 metres), but pressing the top left button allows you to cycle through 'distance', 'area' and 'volume'. These modes require respectively 1, 2 or 3 measurements to be taken at which point the meter will display the resulting measurement in metres to 3 decimal places (i.e. a mm). The meter also by default stores the last 10 measurements taken which can be stepped through using the top right button.Bearing in mind placement of the meter (i.e. against a wall, or whatever) there are also functionality to specify an offset, or for a secondary measurement to be taken that can be added to or subtracted from the initial distance measured depending upon your need. Overall making this a very flexible meter. In use I've found it to just work flawlessly as we've come to expect from Bosch products :)General warnings to be aware of, naturally like a lot of sensitive instruments you should avoid leaving it in sun or getting the meter wet. But above all else DO NOT look into the laser emitter, or point the laser at another person or animal as doing so could potentially do them some permanent harm as can any laser device.So there you go, if you need an accurate measuring meter then this is the tool for you, nice and small and easy to use it should always be in your tools bag :)

This laser measure is tiny, too small to be held comfortably when measuring end-on if I'm honest. When held end-on (shortest side) it has a tendency to wobble slightly as you press the button which results in different results being obtained. It's crucial to ensure the laser spot is truly opposite the meter or your reading will be inaccurate. I'm also not convinced the laser is correctly aligned with the case but I can't test that observation properly. I did line up some accurately measured distances on masking tape and the meter measured all of them spot on to the millimetre. If you can use the meter by holding it flat against something while you press the button to measure you'll get a good result, ie: against walls, floors, ceilings.In other respects this is typical green Bosch quality and suitable for domestic and DIY/handyman needs. It's ideal for quickly measuring for things like carpets, wallpaper, paint quantity, etc, where you tend to compensate with a little excess. The built-in area and volume calculations are both easy to do and helpful. Bosch provide a 3 year warranty for this item if you register it with them, but they require you to accept marketing messages from them in order to register it. That's not so good and not something other brands force you to accept, so negative marks for that!

Es un láser muy preciso, perfecto para las tareas de arquitectos. Tiene un tamaño pequeño y es ligero, muy fácil de llevar. Funciona tanto en interiores como en exteriores.Se puede utilizar de manera intuitiva, no es complicado. Aun que mejor leer las instrucciones, está claro. Ofrece muchas posibilidades más allà de medir distancias, como por ejemplo calcular el área de una habitación o el volumen. Durante su uso va almacenando las medidas tomadas, a no ser que las borres o apagues el láser.La caja del producto de la marca Bosch donde venía el Laser dentro se notaba que tenía años o bien mucho viaje, pues venía con las esquinas gastadas a pesar de ir dentro de otra caja de cartón de transporte. Me dio un poco de desconfianza pero luego el Laser estaba en perfecto estado y funcionamiento.Contenta con la compra.
