Easy to use.
Works well. I use to try to solder batteries together. That really doesnt work . Then I found this spot welder. Very nice now I can fix batteries again. Products week

Worked as expected
I used it to assemble a 52v 14S3P battery pack. I used .2mm pure nickel and did tons of welds. I had to let the pens cool down periodically and recharge the unit 4 times. But the welds worked great. The pedal worked better backwards with the hinge away from me.

Decent hobbyist spot welder
Decent hobbyist spot welder. Very simple to use. Kinda feels cheap though, the housing of the main unit is plastic and very light. When spot welding .1 and .2 nickel strips I basically have to use this at max power to get a good strong weld. But it does indeed make a good weld. The cables do get very warm after just 12-14 welds slowing down the process, but they do cool off within 10-20 seconds. Its internal battery is also fairly small. I’m only getting about 100-150 welds before I have to stop and charge it. It also charges VERY slow. Probably 4 hours to get it from 7.2ish volts to 8.4v (fully charged).Over all, as a hobbyist, I give this thing a 4/5 star because of the small internal battery and charging speed. I am building a 20,000mah 72v battery and it’s taking 2 days to get the welds done because of the waiting for charge or cooling. Also, the foot pedal cable is too short. Standing at my desk it won’t reach the floor to use my feet. I ended up sitting on a stool and putting the foot pedal between my thighs and squeezing it. Not the most comfortable but it works.BUT, it does make a good weld and for $50, hard to beat. If you plan of building multiple large batteries, maybe get something better. If you only do small projects here and there, this is worth the money.

This unit is not worth the money. Do not buy it
This product has the following problems:1. The output power is inconsistent. This may be due to no charging indicator when the welding capacitors are charging.2. There is no indication of then the unit is ready to weld.3. Both the foot switch and welding cables are too short.4. Both the foot switch and the welding cables should be removable.5. The LED display should display "gear" or weld current or capacitor charge level rather than battery level. this indicator is basically useless.6. The users manual is useless and written in bad Chinese translated English.7. The foot switch is flimsy and so light that it move all over the place when trying to use.My suggestion is to not buy this and spend your money on a better true AC powered unit.

I haven't welded yet, awaiting components for job, but like everything so far.
Quality appearance, it takes a charge (over 5 hours initial charge for 100% on OLED) on 2 or more amp micro USB . Display appears to work in English without any option selection. Full aluminum case, metal end piece with precise cut outs for USB A (power bank) access, micro USB charge port, push button power/mode switch. plastic front panel with cutout for OLED display, two circular gold plated weld lead cavity's plug in's, and arrow left/right for menu navigation. menu selection of menu item is via rear power on button tap vs 5 second hold for on/off. weld pens are 4-6 inches shorter than desired (welding on a horizontal table requires lifting box up). weld tips are simply flat cut solid copper tips, not rounded contacts, or angled tips to minimize box lift from table. no protection from power bank mode with open weld lead sockets uncovered. If welding is successful; I would buy this again.

Wonky
I've had this for about a week. I am working on an old 18650 16s 20 amp hour scooter battery. Pros, it works to make good connections. Cons, I have to really work with it to get those good connections. There is both a learning curve and a technique to it. But the thing I dislike most about it is that whenever I turn it off and leave it for a while, perhaps a day or two, it resets itself and becomes very weak even though the voltage is at full charge. I have to tinker with it in order to get it to once again give me a good spot weld. In summation it seems to get the job done and the power does not seem to run out as quickly as other reviews suggest, however I do not think the power will hold up for long extended periods of time, repeated recharges will be necessary for anything more than a small project. I really dislike having to fidget with it every time I turn it off and leave it for 24 hours just to get it to produce a good weld once again. This is a good welder for someone who just wants to make it through a small project here or there. I think that someone who just needs to do one large project, and they don't want to buy a more expensive tack welder because they are not going to use it over and over again, might be able to make do with this. The issues I suspect they will face are they will have to recharge it quite a number of times and if they leave it to take a break for any length of time then they risk having to fidget with it in order to get the tacks back up to par. I suppose it's good for someone who will only use it occasionally or someone who is, like myself, unable to afford a more expensive one.

Big punch packed into a small unit
I got this because I wanted a capacitor welder. For spot welding batteries this has got a little bit extra meat on the bone which is nice. You're not going to struggle with it and let your trying to do a few dozen at a time. Make sure to keep it plugged in. Time will tell how long the electrolytic capacitors last but should last at least 7 years if not much longer. And if they die out you can always replace them. Good size not too big not too small so far it feels sturdy
