Space age high performance alloy - Nitinol Superelastic wire is extremely elastic and strong, able to take extreme forces and stretch 10% without permanent deformation. Nitinol is biocompatible, hypoallergenic, impervious to most acids and alkalis, and does not corrode in sea water. This wire is commonly used in medical applications, fishing, antenna building, and other applications that require a material that can take abuse over and over again without damage. This sample pack allows you to find the ideal wire gauge / diameter for your needs. 6-pack includes 1 foot of 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, and a 7 inch section of 1.6m and 2 mm wires to give you a wide selection of wires to play with to find the ideal nitinol superelastic wire for your needs. Review: This is very neat! Applying heat will cause it to resume it's "remembered" shape/form. Keep in mind they have specified activation temperatures. I bought a variety from different sources, all arrived in good condition and nothing was missing. I don't recall what the activation temperature was for these, but the 40 Celsius activation variation is really not useful, for me at least, since it needs to be practically frozen to be malleable, but the heat from your hands will make it immediately stiff, so not very good at demonstrating the novelty of it! Also, unfortunately, most just go stiffly straight when activated, this was not the desired effect I was looking for, I wanted contraction, so beware of the variations in these types of wires when making your selection for purchase. Review: This does not hold a shape and react to heat the way it should. It appears to be simply vinyl coated spring steel
