Helps greatly with quick warm up when driving off on frosty mornings
I had an old Landrover a few years ago, and to help the fridge like characteristics fitted a Kenlowe hotstart. These are sadly unavailable now so plumped for this unit. I leave it plugged in ( on an RCD plug just in case!!) for 45 minutes or so. When I get into the vehicle and start the engine there is lukewarm air straight away and within a few hundred yards the heater is at maximum efficiency. One possible downside is where to fit the outlet power coupling, on my vehicle it's in a nook in the front plastic valance. The power lead to plug into the 240 volt is very short, so I bought a splash proof housing and extra cable so I now have a 10 metre cable that plugs into the engine power coupling. I'm happy with it but wished Kenlowe still did the hotstart.

Really good kit for starting in winter
Unfortunately could not fit this unit to my current car due to complications under the bonnet. However it is very well made and I am sure it would have proved an asset for cold starting in winter. Beware of the modern car where fitting is a lot more complicated than first appears. A very nice piece of kit.
