SVS prime elavation speakers
Again I have to start by saying to amazon sales team about the great postage service they supply .Im running a xiaomi wemax on a 120 screen on a denon 4400 on a 7.1.2 and decided to try a 5.1.4 and invest in 2 svs height elavations for above my head , ceiling mounted been in contact with techno dad and was able to see on his YouTube video that svs can do a little support block free of charge it was exactly right I contacted svs through amazon and true to his word the customer care was excellent and the back blocks for the height elavation ceiling mounts were sent by svs and arrived in 4-5 days . They were very easily mounted with the template supplied .so tested out on Dolby atmos and wow totally blown away with the svs speakers totally immersive experience I will be definitely changing my old front height speaker with the svs ones ok there a little bit expensive but once you hear the sound quality of the speakers youll will be blown away

Nothing can come close to these speakers in this price range. I am using a pair of SVS Prime Elevation as my back height surround, a huge difference in overall quality of the sound. Top of all the service of Québec Acoustique is exceptional. I had few questions and I talked to William Carpentier Desjardins at Québec Acoustique, he took his time and answer all my questions and provided some valuable tips… Thanks William

These speakers are excellent as height speakers in an Atmos/Surround system intended for music reproduction. I set up a 7.1.4 system using four SVS Elevation for the height speakers, and two SVS Elevation speakers for the rear surround. They are perfect for the purpose, and integrate nicely with and supplement my larger, main, L/C/R/Surround speakers using room/speaker eq software (Dirac Live). Measured frequency response was down to between 50 and 60 Hz (depending on location), consistent with the SVS specs. I've had them for several weeks, listening to a variety of styles, including rock, jazz, classical, techno, electronica, and these speakers sound fine for all genres and styles. Physical installation is straight forward using the included hardware and template. Thanks to the angled (about 20 degrees) baffle, a high wall mount works fine instead of risking your life installing on a ceiling. The instructions direct installing at least two of the mounting bracket screws into studs. In my house, the wall studs were not convenient for all speakers. Therefore, I installed a couple of speakers to drywall using zinc drywall anchors, and it worked just fine for me. I used #6 metal anchors with the screws provided by SVS (which are washer head, necessary). These speakers installed on a wall will not accommodate banana plugs, unless they are very small, I used a bare wire connection, which worked great. The bare wire holes will accept 10 or 12 gauge speaker wire with no problem. I used a socket wrench (gently) to get them nice and tight. The cosmetics for the black ash (actually vinyl) are good enough. The black ash version doesn't show fingerprints or other signs of handling. The surfaces have some texture, which is helpful when mounting. I've seen the SVS glossy black/white finishes, they are nicer, but the black ash vinyl has a fine, neutral appearance. Along with the speakers, you also get first class customer technical support. I pummeled SVS with numerous questions, and always received polite, and helpful responses, usually within one day of my email. These are fine supplemental speakers for Atmos height and back surrounds. They are very efficient and will not stress an AVR. Matching them to larger speakers is simple, either using software or making a manual adjustment by ear (I did both). The mounting hardware is a simple, intelligent design. The instructions enclosed are great, and SVS customer service is exemplary. These speakers are, in my opinion, a great value.

After researching how to add speakers to an ATMOS capable AVR I chose the SVS Prime Elevation speakers based on reviews. They upgraded my 5.1 system to an ATMOS 5.1.2 configuration (Onkyo RZ840 AVR). It was an easy upgrade and sounds great. Using a HTPC and the Win10 Dolby app you can really show off the ATMOS effects. In day to day use when paired with a Nvidia Shield (2019) tube Netflix, Prime and Plex all deliver ATMOS audio when the source supports it. I'm glad I bought these capable speakers as even without an ATMOS source, various AVR settings can utilize them in a 7.1 configuration without these speakers reducing the quality of the other speakers. Less capable speakers would not be able to maintain that level of quality. The mounting brackets hold the speakers well but putting the speakers onto the bracket properly was tricky and one speaker actually fell off but I luckily caught it. The issue was that the bracket is so close to the wall so it is hard to see the brackets mounting holes especially when the speakers is blocking the light. Take care when mounting the speaker into the bracket but once mounted you have no worries.

First I gave Durability 5 stars, but it is way too early to actually say that. But the build quality is excellent. They look as well made as my old B&W surrounds, rear and center speakers and those have been around for well over 20 years. BTW, these match those speaker cabinets almost exactly. I like the smaller size of these while still putting out nice sound volume. Based on my Marantz AV7703 setup, they are pretty efficient speakers compared to my other speakers because at the end of the setup, the SVS speakers had to have the volume relatively reduced compared to my other speakers. Added high fronts and high sides for the Atmos portion of the 11.2 output . Immediately widened and heightened the sound stage dramatically. Now there is this very nice across the wall and to the side and behind me sound stage. The instructions and template helped me set these up quickly. I mounted them at the wall corner near the ceiling for the front and side (instead of over head on the ceiling). Depending on the side you are facing when fitting them onto the mounting plate, that can be tricky to get the speaker pins into the plate. You might want to practice before actually doing it with cables attached. Speaker cable connections are comprehensive, but there really is no room to mount these on the wall/ceiling using banana plugs. Also, the U-spades tend to loosen too easily, so I found using speaker connectors with pins that insert into the binding post holes then tighten the binders to be the most secure and least likely to get loose. Had them for over a month now and really like them and what they have added to my home theater setup.

Easy to mount. Great frequency response. Nice looking. I have 2 pairs mounted as front and rear height speakers in a 7.2.4 system.
