This is a must have. Should come in the box with the A6700.
The A6700 is truly an amazing camera, at only $1,400. The only drawback is the size. It's kinda too small. That hurts the camera in 2 areas... the ergonomics and EVF. The EVF being tightly integrated into the body means it's small and difficult to use, nothing you can really do about that. What you CAN do, though, is improve the ergonomics and look with THIS item. From factory, the grip on the A6700 is pretty bad, and can't fit your fingers well. This plate doesn't look very bug, but it FEELS like it adds a surprising bit of gripping area. Your pinky no longer dangles in the wind, and it adds a bit if bulk to your camera filling out the size a bit, and making it look more like a real professional item. The black metal also adds a nice little accent to the bottom of your camera. It just makes the whole thing feel more premium. It also adds an arca Swiss rail on to the bottom, while retaining the threaded mounting points and even adding a few more. This won't replace a cage, but if you don't want or need a cage, this can give you to most useful benefits if you don't have a million things you need to attach. I like to run the cage, but if I want a compact setup or a single lens and battery, I'll just throw the bottom plate on. I run a cage when I need it, but sometimes I take it off. You will NEVER catch me with this plate off the camera unless using a cage. It's a MUST have if you never buy another accessory.

Masterpiece.
Clearly designed by people who care about ergonomics. They put a little door to swing out of the way so the battery door can open. Why? So you can grip the camera with all your fingers. Makes the handling of the camera so much better. Plus it’s very lightweight and durable. They even put a little tool to unscrew it from the camera on the bottom of the plate. That hides itself in a magnetic slot. Transition from camera body to plate is smooth and comfortable. Goes right on my arca tripod quick and easy. 30 bucks is WELL worth it. I’d buy it for 60. Big fan.

One of the only items I have ever given 5 stars. Must-have and excellent add-on for a6700
My pinky was always dangling until I added this base. Plus it has the Acra-swiss dovetail. Excellent quality. Perfect fit. Protects the bottom of the camera and battery door. The added grip length for the pinky finger lets me grab camera with three fingers instead of two, and use the index finger for shutter/front control wheel. Note the base does not have stop pins on the Acra-swiss. However, the design is such that the camera can only be slid onto a tripod from the left side of camera; as viewed from the back. This functions as a stop on the dovetail, so when the camera is mounted in portrait mode, the battery side/right side is up and the LCD is down. Operating like a Hasselblad at waist level. The only change I would suggest is to add two mounting holes so a revised version of SmallRig's a6700 fan/cooler could be secured with screws.

Nice base plate for Sony A6700
I've had my A6700 for nearly a year and I have big hands. My pinky finger would always fall under the camera body which was annoying. The SmallRig baseplate fits the A6700 perfectly and now my pinky finger has a home to rest. Camera feels more secure to hold as well. There area many attachment points on the baseplate should I ever decide to add extras. Well built! YMMV

The Ultimate Game-Changer for Your Sony a6700!
I just snagged the SmallRig baseplate for my Sony a6700, and let me tell you, it’s a total game-changer! This thing fits the camera like a glove – no awkward edges or mismatched sizes here. The quality? Top-notch! It matches the camera’s build perfectly, doesn’t feel cheap, and honestly, it makes the a6700 look even more sleek and sturdy. Not only does it enhance the grip, making the camera easier to handle (especially for those longer shoots), but it also adds this elegant, robust vibe to the whole setup. It’s like the cherry on top that takes the a6700 to a solid A++ level. Totally recommend this baseplate without any reservations – you won’t regret it! It’s the perfect addition if you’re looking to amp up your camera game.

An essential add-on for the A6700
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Enables extra grip and attachment points for the A6700. Even though the added height is quite small, there is a definite benefit when holding the minute A6700. I like the extra attachment points also. Finally the ARCA plate is very useful for allowing me to attach/detach the camera from a tripod. All ports are accessible and you barely realize it's attached (until you use one of its many features). Essential.

Killer looks / added functionality and comfort.
I purposely waited until I had given this enough use to really gage it it’s worth the hype… and let me tell you, it is 100% worth the hype. I say hype because every YouTuber or reviewer will tell you how good these are and it’s true, this is a game changer! The 7Cii is grip is quite small and this makes it that much better to hold. The build quality is great and doesn’t feel cheap. It adds minimal weight, negligible really. The setup is really simple, you can use the included tool to tighten the screw and the tool is stored magnetically in the grip itself. Functionality and compatibility with tripods is great. You can use with most tripod heads and quick release plates, so it’s great that it doesn’t need to be removed to use it with a tripod. Lastly, on the vanity side of things, I absolutely love how think the silver looks when combined with the silver A7Cii. Overall highly recommend.

Great Fit But Battery Changes Could Be Better
This has the same great quality as all of my other Smallrig gear and fits seamlessly on the a6700. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the hinged piece that needs to open to fully open the battery door. It’s not a deal breaker at all but does add an extra step to swapping batteries. It is done to make the plate perfectly match the profile of the camera body but I would be ok with that area not perfectly matching the profile if it allowed the battery door to freely open without the extra hinged piece on the baseplate. Still a great value for a baseplate despite that one minor nitpick.

Moved to the a6700 from an a77m2, knowing the grip wasn't perfect but loving almost everything else about this camera. The depth of the grip works for me however I struggled with the height, with my pinky finger half on or half off. I thought this might be a very cost effective way to extend the grip and it has worked wonderfully. Perfect fit for the camera, just the right height as you can see in the picture. Battery still easily accessible and the weight added is small. Highly recommend if you find the grip too vertically short. Only upgrade I would like to see if having a plastic tape/grip on the front so it doesn't feel different than the grip on the a6700 but that is minor.

A solid and light weight addition to my camera. It offers additional grip along a stronger base.

A pretty nice product for your 6700. Fits your camera perfectly, good fit to hands. No more dangling little finger while holding the body. 10/10 product

Muy útil, en mi caso ayuda a mejorar la experiencia de uso de mi cámara, tanto teniéndola en mano como dejándola en el escritorio.

This base plate for the A6700 is a must have for photographers with big hands. With the base plate, it allows for my pinky finger to have a hold. Extra convenient with all the loops and screws holes on the bottom for tripod and other mounts. The magnetic slot for the screw key works so well.
