This light our unit has a phenomenal build quality. It is surprisingly heavy and you know that they use quality materials and sensors for this. My idea is to use this ad to create a robot that can avoid instructions. Right now all I’m doing is working on trying to map objects in the immediate vicinity. So far this is worked exactly as expected. This is not a normal customer item this is something for people who like to tinker with projects. But I’m impressed with the build quality and the response I’m getting so far. I think you have to learn a bit of programming to get the most out of this item. But even 10 years ago I would imagine being able to get my hands on something like this. It’s pretty incredible.

Excellent. This is the kind of thing I'd never order in a million years if I had to open my own wallet, but as an Amazon Vine reviewer I get to test products like this for free, so I decided it might be fun to tinker with it.My plan is to attach this LIDAR sensor to my Frankenstein's monster of a drone to serve as an object avoidance tool. My skills aren't quite there just yet, so at this point I'm still very much at the tinkering stage, but my impression so far is that that is a very well made and capable device. It feels high quality, a precision instrument, and it's plenty lightweight enough to attach to my drone without affecting the flight characteristics.I'll likely come back and update this review as I delve deeper into the sensor and figure out just what I'm doing, but for now I'm awarding five stars as a placeholder based only on my first impressions.
