Received this tap and die set today and i'm impressed with the packaging and presentation. Unlike many tool sets that arrive in a similar cases not one tap or die had come loose. All 110 items were securely in their allotted compartment. Now for $40.00 I realize these are not HSS (high speed steel) but an almost identical HSS set from Grangers is listed at $950.00. I did a few tests using the correct size pilot drill (very important) some tapping fluid and backing off after every turn and the results are impressive. With care I believe this set will do all that I need at a huge savings ?

Very nice set overall. Used about 8 times so far on 3 different taps. These cut very well and did not have any problems tapping in various types of steel. I like having the set contained in one container. So far I have been very impressed with the taps and I assume the rest of the dies will be the same quality

It is great to have a set this extensive as it will cover many of the common and uncommon sizes and threads

I ordered this set thinking it will resolve any issues I run into in the future with metric hardwares. I was not impressed with the quality. Very disappointed! Both taps and dies were almost all not deburred from machine processing. Cuts were not cleaned! Couple of the taps were too long for the slots in the case (M5x0.8). The taps were also larger than 5mm (5.2 when measured with a micrometer). In the first photo the M5 taps does not fit in the slots in the case. Second photo show one of many dies uncleaned. In the 4th photo I compared the M5 tap from this set to another brand I had. Left one is another brand and the larger one on the right is from this set. I would not recommend this product.

Eficiente

I bought this expecting to hardly ever use it. And then almost immediately after I bought it I had to take it into work to fix the threads on a subframe in a car. Pretty decent size bolt too. Had to use one of the bigger size taps. Wasn't sure how well it was going to hold up being a cheap tap and die set. But it ended up doing the job just fine. For the price I would definitely recommend this. Some of the tap and die handles leave a little to be desired. But overall I really can't complain about any of it

Chasers not taps and dies. You can clean a thread but you can’t make a new one on anything other than aluminum or plastic. Let’s be real. If it looks great and costs nothing you can’t expect too much from it and that’s exactly what the 110 piece of low quality is.

Je ne l'ai utilisé qu'une seule fois et le résultat était probant, mais la mallette est peu pratique > Les filières ne tiennent pas bien dans les logements alors que certains tarauds sont difficiles à extraire ou à remettre.

Bin sehr zufrieden, kann ich nur weiterempfehlen, und auf probleme wird sehr schnell reagiert

The flimsy plastic case arriving with a missing clip on the right side half open with half of the tools all over the very thin outside cardboard box. No insulation material in the box. The cardboard box was without damages so no visible evidence of poor handling by the shipping agents. Some of the tools inside have its size markings very faint making it extremely difficult to find out which tool goes where. Have not decided yet but I think I will return the item, exactly the same way as I got it.
