I actually allowed it to expand for the 48 hours and it it’s amazing. It is thick but plush and soft. Absolutely breathable and value for money. Fit perfectly on my bed and it does flatten once in it but doesn’t sink you to the bed! This is the best one! Definitely recommend let expand for 48 hours if able to :)

We originally purchased a 3” topper from Walmart. It was nice but too squishy and was hard to get out of bed. Purchased this one for almost half the price and it’s perfect! Soft but a little more firm. Doesn’t kill the back and you don’t get lost in it when trying to move around or get up. Not too hot either although I wouldn’t say it’s cooling. Would definitely purchase again and would recommend.

First, let me tell you that I'm 5'4'' and 116 lbs as a point of reference. I think all reviews should include the general size of the person, as it may make or break.I mostly love this topper. I turned my mattress and the "new" area was HARD. It was difficult to sleep on my sides because it was so painful to my hips, and I was stiff and sore all day every day. I knew I had to do something quickly, so I chose this topper after looking around at several on here.I'm glad that I did. It's really quite thick. It has enough firmness and loft that my hips don't go all the way down to the mattress when I'm on my side. That's a great thing! When on my back, I don't feel the mattress underneath me either. I still have the support of the firm mattress, of course, but I only feel the cushion of the topper.As for "cooling gel" ... I don't feel any when I squeeze the purple swirls. I imagine that it's in there if it says it is, but I don't feel anything at all that seems cool to my fingers. It does retain a fair amount of heat for me. I've awakened sweaty a couple of times. I don't think there really is any such thing as cool memory foam though. It does have a lot of little holes throughout it as pictured, and maybe that helps with heat dispersion or something; I don't know. It's hot enough for me to remove at least one star.There was VERY little odor right out of the wrap. The little bit that I did smell was gone in 24 hours. I only let it lay out for four or five hours before putting it on my bed, and it had already expanded pretty well. That was promising, and the immediate thickness and feeling of durability did not disappoint.Unless you really "sleep hot," I think you'll love this. It's not horribly hot for me, but I definitely notice that I'm hotter with it than without it. It definitely doesn't make me cooler than without it because of the supposed gel. Don't expect to feel refreshed from any sort of coolness when you lie down. It's not that type of cooling product.I do highly recommend aside from that. I can probably deal with the measure of extra heat because it's really saved my bony hips and stiff back. I can't speak to whether or not a heavier person would sink all the way through it to the mattress below, but it's plenty thick and sturdy enough for me. Very much worth the money.

I bought this to replace a memory foam topper. The other topper was thicker & cost twice as much but was so squishy that I got hip pain due to sinking. This one however is PERFECT! At first I was a little concerned because it was packed so tight that it looked thin. In 7 hours it completely expanded. My hip pain was gone the first night. The pad is soft but not too soft. It had a slight odor when I first opened it, but dissipated in under an hour. It also sleeps cooler than a standard memory foam pad. Wish I had found this pad years ago. Highly recommend!

I let it expand for 24hours before using it, it works very well. It made my bed so much softer. I can finally have a good nights sleep, it is decent priced and it did not give me any problem, I just took it out the box, let it sit for 24 hours then enjoyed. Overall super easy and it inflates back up quickly

The quality of this is great, it came quickly, and was well packaged.However it's way too "memory" foam for me. Wherever you lay it makes a deep hole. It's comfortable while you're still but if you roll over it takes nearly a minute for it to fluff back up. I cannot lay close to my partner because she weighs more than me so I fall into her hole.When I lay on my side it caves in near my hips and then my legs are higher than my body. I weigh 130. It is hard to get out of your hole too, and I don't imagine someone older being able to climb out of their hole.Second pic is showing the hole from leaning on the bed just with my fist for a few seconds.Just from a week of sleeping, the middle (where we don't sleep) is higher and firmer than the sides. First pic attached to show that.

Great topper. Heavey but not hot.

This is great. I slept like a hibernating bear the very first night. I’m a hot sleeper but I didn’t feel any more hot with this on the bed than I did without it. It is the correct size for my bed. Fits the mattress all around. Took about 6 hours to fully expand. I had a fan in the room and by the time I went to bed I detected no odor. I had a previous topper that completely collapsed as soon as I laid on it providing absolutely no support. I would say that this is medium firm. Soft enough for comfort and pressure relief but not so soft that you sink all the way into it. I’m able to move around without any problem. I could probably have been fine if I’d bought the 2” I’ve had it for a few days now and I love it. I have a good mattress that is only a year old but this has really upped the comfort level for these 70 year old bones. I waited till I’d slept on it for a few days before writing my review. I recommend this if you need a softer mattress.
