So far this tie out cable has worked really well for my 110 pound German Shepard! I have had it a few weeks now and I wanted to wait to write a review because I wanted to be sure there were no product issues. I have had no issues and it’s sturdy and does not get all knotted up like the much thinner tie-out cable we purchase from the store for our pit bull who is half my GSD’s size. I am outside in the front yard working while I put him on this cable, I don’t leave him unattended just because. I also clip it to his harness so it won’t choke him. He is not very friendly to dogs he doesn’t know or some strangers and I feel completely okay having him on this cable because I really don’t think he will break it, trying to get at anything he feels is a threat. It’s pretty long so he can lay in the grass or stay in the garage on the couch. I added a thick carabiner to the end so I can loop it through and attach it to the loop in the cable just for my sanity. The clips on the end seem pretty strong but my baby is very very strong so the carabiner gives me peace of mind. He is older and hasn’t tried to chew through it, he doesn’t do that anymore he’s 4 now, he only chews on his squeaky toys and tennis balls. The price was much cheaper than any in the box stores so that of course is why I pretty much use Amazon for stuff like this. It came within one day with Prime as well. I tie it around a tree in the yard and double it up too because it’s long enough to do that and still give him room to play. It’s well made and I feel like we will get a decent amount of time out of this purchase. But I tie it always to his harness not a collar, I definitely recommend that. I also bring it inside when it’s not in use so it won’t rust but I did accidentally leave it outside and it wasn’t rusty at all. Anyway give it a try!

Works well for us

Like most homes we only have privacy fence at the back yard, and our two little Shih-Tsu dogs like to hang out in the front yard at intervals during the morning and evening, when the weather is cool, to watch cars and folks walk by as they get their mail etc, so I got these 25 ft. tie-out for them to have enough leverage, to run and walk along our front lawn. They are not very thick cables, more on the thinner side, but the rugged steel and PVC material that they are made off, are strong and hold up well with the weight and pull of our dogs, as they take them to the limit while running at full speed when they see a cat pass by. I've had like these before, and they've lasted very long. Our dogs are 17 lbs, and 18 lbs, so this size is perfect for them. You might want to get a much thicker cable tie-out if you have much larger dogs. There are hooks on both end of the cables, which are very thick, safe and durable. I bought four 25 ft. tie-out cables and combined two cables together, making them into 50 ft cables for each dog. I hooked one end around a tree in our yard, and the other unto their harness, so they can comfortably roam across the front yard without much restrictions. I got the white and they look pretty good.

Much cheaper than you can get in stores. Durable that holds up to 100 pound German Shepherd who has broke other brands.
