A nice piece of kit, compact but works well and reads the disc quickly.The options of USB C is a bonus as well.

This is a great item, CD/DVD external drive. Easy to install, took only seconds, a sturdy good quality item, not a cheap drop and break, it has a nice storage space for the cable underneath, it’s stylish. Does exactly what I need, the cost is exceptionally cheap for what I consider a high quality item. I would recommend highly. Seller, outstanding, transaction quick, delivered in good quality packaging.

A plug & play external DVD/CD player which worked no problems on connection to laptop! The lead is stored under the base is a nice selling feature to keep the unit tidy, however, in reality, the lead is too short and makes plugging into the USB port difficult!

Absolutely amazed with this little CD/DVD writer. Plug and play straight from the box. Cannot fault it for the price paid.

No-hassle, compact external optical Drive. I've even created an Audio CD on it, which went well. Not tried yet if it can/take/burn my blank double layer 8.5 DVDs. Will update when I try it out. Very happy with it. 👍 (excuse the dog hairs, she's shedding atm & I didn't notice until uploading pic).:

Anybody who has bought an external DVD/CD burner recently may have been dismayed by the flimsy casing/build quality. This one does feel reassuringly solid in comparison to most. However, it is incredibly poor in use. I've used it exclusively for CD burning and ripping.This external drive worked OK, if a bit slow, for about three discs. Since then, it immediately ejects discs 3 times out of every 5 attempts! It often fails to read the disc, and/or just stops working for no reason. When starting a CD rip, it fails after the first track and then needs further attempts before it finally does what it should.I'm using various factory pressed and unmarked discs from the 1980's to the present day. Burn speeds when it does work correctly have never exceeded 7X (more often a gruelling 1.8-5X speed) except for one disc which did managed 16X.It's all very disappointing. I've struggled with this unit until today. I've purchased an Asus SDRW lite model (not from Amazon), just plugged in to the PC USB and immediately no issues, with ripping speeds of 16X. No problems whatsoever - exactly as it should be.Mine is probably a bad one, but looking at the reviews, I am not alone in having issues.Very poor and cannot recommend.

Got this for use on my MacBook Air (M1) and a HP Windows PC (devices don't seem to have built in DVD drives these days). It works fine on both - simply used the DVD Player App on the MacBook. Worked first time on both machines, looks quite good - and the cable (has both USB and USB-C) tucks away neatly. Not especially quiet but I wouldn't necessarily have expected that. Paid about £20 so was good value.

Seems fine. One star deducted as can't tell re Longevity. My last unit (very similar to this, but a different brand) was fine until it wasn't, lasting only just over a year, having had only light and careful use!
