Works right out of the box, but should have some local settings made. The app for setup is very quick and easy. Device works well, good price. Only complaint is the printed instructions are way to small to read. The app is a better approach to setup anyway.

This is an amazing little router. It has the full capability of the Mikrotik RouterOS (which, if you're comfortable with network configurations, is amazing) in a tiny package with very little power draw. Several of these in a mesh configuration can build a home (or business) sized mesh network (2.4Ghz only) that provides better speed and coverage than many of the mesh solutions that cost $100+ per radio. It also makes a fantastic travel router that can be configured with a VPN tunnel to a home or office network. The only thing that would make this router better is if Mikrotik made a 5Ghz or multi-band router in the same form factor.

Main router is from Cable Company "Suddenlink". Does not reach all of the upstairs and downstairs on its own. I ran Ethernet cable to the farthest downstairs room and one to the upstairs area. I connected a Mikrotik router to each Ethernet cable and have devices connect to that signal. Works great. My house is not that large, but does have steel beams which may be interfering with the Suddenlink router. The Microtik routers solve the problem at a reasonable cost.

These are well made and easy for professionals to use. I prefer Mikrotik for most Soho applications. I've purchased many of their other products previously.As for this one: I've had mine a while now and it is working and stable. No issues.I feel like I should say more, but really that's it: Professional, working, stable.

I am a MikroTik enthusiast and thus had to see what this mini router can do. It does almost everything the other line of MikroTik routers do but at a fraction of the price. It works great as a home / office WiFi router.There is a learning curve involved with MikroTik products. A novice can get lost in all the configuration options of MikroTik so my recommendation is if you want to learn complex router architecture, MikroTik routers are the way to go. But for pure simplicity, buy something else like Linksys or Belkin or Netgear or Asus.

The configuration was extremely glitchy. Whenever I tried to change IP settings, it would either not save or stop allowing access to the gui even though it started routing and DHCP correctly. It has potential, but had bugs even after a firmware update.

This is a great budget wifi router for basic wireless connectivity. Great to throw into a go bag. Nice to use in a hotel room for your own (better) in-room wifi by plugging it into a wired connection. I use them for all sorts of things like providing temporary wifi at job sites and as wired port extenders to provide an Ethernet port for non-wireless devices.
