First impressions are that I'm a bit underwhelmed. The torches I have received do not have carry handles as stated in the product description and they are not packaged as nicely as the photos in the listing (they are a gift so packaging is important to me). The description also said that an 'Easy to light with wax firelighter included' but I don't think it has been, unless this is the wadding inside the log? I'm not clear.

These work amazingly well.
These really do work perfectly. We’ve used three and will rebuy. Pull out the plug of straw wadding, light the straw below, push the straw plug back in and wait. It will smoke for quite a few minutes. But be patient. Then you see a flame, the smoking stops and it burns cleanly, wholly self contained and unmolested for about forty minutes or so. No sparking or spitting whatsoever with the three have used.We just balance it on top of an over turned earthenware plant pot and sit with a glass of wine in the garden. It’s lovely. And so clean and easy. It dies of its own accord. Not need to poke or throw water over it or anything (I suppose that would be safe but unnecessary). In the morning there is a charred remains of the bottom three or four inches and a small shovel full of embers.

Product received was not product pictured. Have had Swedish logs before like the ones pictured with criss cross cut and wick down centre- they light easily and quickly and burn great. These logs have random holes drilled in sides which don’t align with the central column and which is packed with sawdust, so no air can be drawn in. Was slow and difficult to light and might as well have just had a large log, which for the price paid is not acceptable.

They do the job - but don’t be fooled by the pictures.
They do the job and arrived promptly. Disappointingly they weren’t packaged like the pictures, no handles and the cuts were haphazard rather than the smart square cut in the pictures.Probably won’t buy again as £35 for four logs is pretty pricey.

Loved this product, it kept the group warm for at least 3 hours and had a beautiful glow. I would highly recommend
