FireangelWHT-630Q Radio-Interlink Heat Alarm with 10 Year Lithium Battery

To meet the new Scottish fire safety standards coming soon, we recently installed 2 smoke detectors and 1 heat detector, all interlinked. So if one alarm sounds, they all sound. A heat detector is better for a kitchen, and we like the idea that FireAngel products seem well designed, carefully researched, and reliable. This heat detector has a 'long-life' battery, so we're hoping it lasts 5+ years, so naturally, it's not possible yet to give a review of battery life. But most important is that we trust the heat detector will do its job if a problem should happen. The FireAngel range seem popular with the UK Fire Service, so that's a plus. Thank you.

Terrible plastic packaging. A cardboard box would suffice which can be recycled.Easy to install mounting plate with 2 screws and twist fit unit.Simple to interlink unit.I've read reviews where people cannot find the battery for this device that's because it's internal and tamper proof. It cannot be removed or accessed.I cannot comment on battery life however it says 10 years so I'd be very unhappy if it didn't last a large percentage of the claimed lifespan.

The Scottish Government intended to bring in regulations requiring all houses to have interlinked smoke alarms and heat detectors by 1st Feb 2021. This has been postponed until 2022 due to Covid-19.I bought this heat detector for the kitchen and three Fire Angel smoke alarms to cover the rest of the house to comply with the regulations. They were easy to fit and set up. If one sounds, they all sound.The regulations allow installation of mains-powered alarms or alarms with ten year tamper-proof batteries. I took the easier option.

Supposed to be 10 year back up battery life. Yet inside it says replace battery by 2028. Clearly been on a shelf for a couple of years.

I find this product the best in fire protection there is for the home. It connects with all other devices to alert all who are at home of a fire anywhere in the home similar to that of a commercial system but without the hassle of instillation costs and labour etc. This alarm is reliable and will not activate if you burn the toast or spray some scent into the air. It works using heat so will only activate if there is a true fire enabling you to carry on your life knowing your protected with no false alarms.

Despite the numerous negative reviews regarding battery life, I uncharacteristically thought that they would have fixed this problem by now. I will find out some time in the future and let you know if it fails. I already have an identical WHT-630Q heat alarm and a WST-630 smoke alarm. I did have a little trouble getting it to link in - had to attempt it three of four times before the light stayed on and then it linked OK. These do have a five year warranty and if I have a problem, no matter how poor their customer service is (some have criticised that) I will prevail! I have only recently retired an old 9v smoke alarm and that is still going strong after 20 plus years - seems a pity that the latest technology costs a packet, and will probably only last a few years.

Had to update house alarms due to new Scottish fire regs. New law comes in to effect soon.

Easy to pair to our other devices, nice an easy to install, very happy. Good value for peace of mind.
