Spinning piece of tape
The media could not be loaded. Hi, it’s just a spinning piece of tape on a plastic mount that once you click into shape you can’t collapse again, you do have to supply 2 aa batteries, don’t think it’s worth the value of over £10 😀

Flys away
This is a great fly repellant. Covers a short area. Batteries not included

Works for about a day, but
The media could not be loaded. Only has a small area of effect to deter fly's. Around it fly's get scared and fly away, but across the other side of the table they will fly on top of the food in the plate, it only works in the vicinity of the area, and a little further away, maybe about 5inches away from the spin in diameter give or take. So need to use this a few times on a long table. It does what it says though, batteries last depending on the quality of AA. I tested out introduction with good batteries that may last a few days none stop, but rechargeable ones only lasted 1 day before needing a recharge, it's a shame these things aren't designed with 5,000mah built in battery.Once you pull it out, you should hear 3 clicks per pyramid block, after the click there is no way to retract it back in, it is one way and then it stays that way forever. I think it should have ability to be able to retract it. The idea is good, but the materials are cheap and doesn't come with any batteries, and only works in a small area, but at least you can hang it upside down too.

It works, auto swatting away pesky fliers
It works, but at a short distance essentially. It is not like you can put in the center of the table and magically no flies will land on plates.I put it close to the serving plate and the flies would not get too close, while the guests had to swat away their own share of pesky fliers manually. It does look a bit weird on the garden table to be frank. The tape is soft and the motor not too powerful, so no risk of hurting yourself by touching the spinning ribbon.Powered by 2 AA batteries, rechargeable work fine.

Excellent
This is designed to repel insects hovering over people/food. It's a great idea. There is a little assembly to do before the first operation and sadly, I cannot find a way to disassemble it during the winter months but I put it in the garage when not in use. The blades are soft and flexible so, even if they meet an object including your hand, it doesn't no damage but may stop revolving until the object is moved or placed further away. The blades are also shimmery which is likely to repel the insects as well. The fan can be placed on any flat surface. You can also hang it upside down using the hook on the base. The on/off switch is on the base where the battery storage is (2 AA batteries, not supplied). I use rechargeable batteries.

Not good
In the box you have the fan and instructions. To assemble you hold the bottom layer then pull the second and third layers up untill they click into place the attach the blade. You just place it were you want to keep flys away but being honest I don't think it will do the job it suppose to as the blades don't spin very fast, you carnt close it back down again when not in use.Priced at £13.99 think its a waste of money.

Good or bad? time will tell!
How annoying is it when you are plagued by flies whilst eating out on the patio enjoying the sun having to have a swatter in one hand to dissuade those irritating flies who seem to appear from nowhere when food is served?Maybe this gadget will keep them at bay? only a summer season will tell.It arrives in a small box, the unit is in 3 sections which have to be slid out of each other to make the height. This was a little disconcerting as they proved to be really tight and required a fair amount of force to "snap" the plastic tabs into place, I feared breaking them.Thankfully, that didn't happen and all sections clipped into place without incident.Once extended, it is not possible to re-compact the unit, which is a shame as I was hoping it would compact enough to be able to take it on holiday. The "fan " blades need to be attached next, simply push the hub onto the spindle on the top.The blades are constructed of thin flexible plastic which will not cause any harm if hands are caught in them, the blades simply stop turning until the restriction is removed whereupon they restart. They spin quite slowly, as it is not designed to "fan" a volume of air, just a moving deterrent to confuse and ward off flying insects who hopefully will do a detour. It requires 2 x AA batteries which are not supplied, a shame that it isnt USB rechargeableat £12.99 at the time of this review it could be good value if it works, of not if it doesn't, time will tell!

Perfect for outdoor dining
Up until recently I have never seen these and eating outside has been a nightmare as the flies do like to hover. When the fan arrives it comes in a little box and requires you to snap the 3 sections into place, downside you can’t re-compact and it has to stay at full height and means storage after the summer season isn’t as easy. The plastic seems sturdy bearing in mind the amount of pressure you need to apply when putting together. While using on a recent bbq it seems to have worked and we didn’t get pestered with wasps either, is that because of the fan or just a coincidence I have no idea but I’ll keep using this throughout summer for sure. You only get one fan though for the price which I think make it a little expensive as there are some on the market that you get two for a few pounds more. However with good care these would last a long time and the fan doesn’t hurt if you catch yourself on it.
