Well worth the money
Just for a change a toaster that will take a full slice of a standard loaf without any sticking out.Very quick to brown, much quicker than anything I`ve had previously.Toasting was a bit patchy at first, but after a couple of uses the element has settled down and now gives a nice even toasting.

Keep it clean
This is an almost direct replacement for another cream-coloured Russel Hobbs toaster, which caught fire spectacularly after 10 years use.It does the job well enough, it's quick, toasts evenly, can take UK sized bread slices and doesn't take up a lot of worktop space. But make sure you empty the crumb tray and shake down any bits of bread caught in the bread holders inside of the machine. That's what created the blaze in our previous toaster, and this one is identical inside to it!

Love it
I've only just received this toaster and used it for the first time, but I absolutely love it. It seems very big to me as my last toaster was nowhere near this size, but it still looks very nice on my worktop. The slots look huge, both in length and width, and I can't imagine anything that wouldn't fit. To test it I toasted a couple of burger buns, set on 2. They popped up so fast I thought I obviously had it set too low, but they were toasted evenly a lovely golden brown and exactly how I like toast to be. A second set of buns had an identical result. I am so happy! Obviously it's early days (extremely), but there is nothing about the toaster that suggests to me it's not good quality, and with a 3 year guarantee there is no reason not to love it. One thing I would point out is the fact that it needs to be run at high setting while empty before the first use. They warn there may be some smell, which is normal. Thankfully I have an electric socket next to my back door and so I decided to stand the toaster outside the door while doing this. Being outside I don't know about a smell, but it smoked like crazy for a short while and had it not been outside, my smoke alarms would have been going insane! After that initial run I toasted the buns as normal and there was neither smoke nor smell. Absolutely recommend this toaster.

Takes large slices
This toaster takes full slices of bread without the need to turn them round during toasting. It is still very new but by far the best toaster I have had in years. Only downside is that the outer gets very hot when in operation. An earlier reviewer said it was a good idea to do the initial seasoning of the product outdoors due to the smell. I was glad I took that advice. I used an extension cable to do it in the back garden. Do remember to run it without bread for the first use as it need sto burn off any residue from production before toasting in it.

Set the bread on fire
What a shame, after extensive research to find a toaster that will comfortably fit Bread from the bakery, this model will accept 13 x17 cm slices (landscape), unfortunately it doesn't toast evenly at all. The bread needs to go in Landscape, but as you can see it burns the toast at the bottom, whilst barely toasting it at the top.The first one was uneven (See toast not on the toaster), so I thought I might have been unlucky, I mean how hard can it be after all of these years to get a toaster to toast evenly, so I sent it back to get a second.Well the replacement is far worse!2nd Toaster set to 4. The very first slice was set on fire in a very specific place - an actual flame - I was too busy putting it out, to think of taking a picture - the rest of the slice was untoasted, but I've never before seen a slice of bread actually aflame in a toaster..I later tried it again on a lower setting, but again in the other photo (on the toaster) you can see it toasting very unevenly. I ignore the little slice as it is an uneven "end piece", so not really a fair test.Needless to say this is going back as well for a refund, as clearly this model can't be trusted or recommended. The Search resumes.....

Russell Hobbs 2 slice toaster
Great toaster. Can accommodate larger than normal slices of bread, so no more cutting the ends off. Does the job.

Relatively good value
It takes large thick slices of bread as I don't use supermarket sliced. BUT, as with all toasters I have had, it tends to toast one side better, maybe because I only toast one slice not two?As another reviewer has remarked, the slices don't always stay down when you first insert them & you have to give the lever a rather hefty thump to get it to engage, so I wonder how long this will last before it gives up!It's a pleasing design. What more can I say? It's a toaster, it works well enough, not something I can get excited about, as long as it works.
