This microphone has been a game changer for me. I'm a content creator on YouTube (LoveTribeOverland if you care to look me up.) The difference this microphone has made for me with my outdoor video is tremendous. One of the shots we get, is what I call the "campfire shot" where we are sitting around at the end of the day chatting about the day. Before I added this microphone, it was really hard to hear the three (or more) of us. Most wireless lapel mics only allow for two lapel mics, and that would be too fussy to set up... this microphone solved this problem perfectly. You can hear everyone clearly... even when we talk in lower tones.... seriously perfect... and if there is any breeze at all, the dead cat cuts the wind noise beautifully. We also shoot our food preparation (overlanding videos are really just cooking outdoor videos lol).... usually ASMR style, so capturing every little sound while we are preparing food, is as close to smellivision as it gets... it has made our food prep portions of the video quite a bit more immersive. This microphone LIVES on my video camera now. I was worried about battery life, but on my last trip, we were out 5 days and the battery held up the entire trip. I'm seriously impressed and grateful for such a great piece of equipment... the price I paid was WELL worth it.

This mic is amazing for the price. Great sound, wireless, and the range is outstanding. Easy setup and battery life lasts forever. Only downside is there is no internal recording and 32 bit float but the safety switch gets the job done. Maybe the next iteration of comica mics will have these features. Highly recommend if you're on a budget or not!

Best audio I've ever gotten from a 3.5 microphone. I've used this with mirrorless and Canon C300 Mark iii with excellent results. Boom it for clear interview audio that AUTOMAGICALLY creates a backup recording for you. Highly recommended.

FINAL VERDICT - 4.5/5 stars I've tested many microphones, and the Comica VM40 stands out for its clarity, ease of use, and wireless flexibility. The 32-bit float recording ensures perfect audio levels without distortion, and the 2.4GHz wireless transmission provides stable, interference-free sound even at long distances. Pros: Crystal-clear audio with no peaking or distortion Wireless with long-range stability (100m range) Long battery life (up to 10 hours) Compatible with cameras, smartphones, and laptops App control for real-time adjustments Cons: The mobile app could use some UI improvements Slight learning curve for beginners If this goes further than a foot from you, it introduces a lot of room noise in to the audio, which can be tricky to EQ out for new/beginners to correcting audio however, the 32bit float audio still helps in this situation. You can circumvent this basically by having the VM40 right in front of your face to pick up my voice well without picking up as much room noise. (the reason why 4.5/5 stars). Final Verdict: If you’re a content creator, filmmaker, or podcaster looking for a feature-packed wireless shotgun mic, the Comica VM40 is a fantastic investment. Highly recommended!

This thing is so versatile. USB mic, wireless shotgun mic with a companion receiver, on-camera wired or wireless mic. You'll need to test things out when using the receiver because you can adjust the gain on the mic itself as well as the receiver. It gets great battery life before a recharge is necessary. The sound quality is really good for the price, though I'd put it one step below the Rode VideoMic NTG and maybe on par with the VideoMic Go II. For the money it's a great choice.

For the price, this device was disappointing. First, its instructions refer to features that the mic doesn't actually have: I don't mean functions, I mean actual physical features. So that steepens the learning curve. Further, the dialing for the mic sensitivity seems to be largely so that...well, I'm not sure what it does. Hypothetically it increases or decreases the strength by which the mic picks up sound. And maybe it does. But regardless of the mic's dialed strength, it picks up sound only in bursts: the first half-second of anyone's speaking is essentially absent, and no matter how short the pause, even just between one sentence and the next, the mic abruptly ceases recording and then picks up again the moment sound starts, only to--again--cut off the first half-second. Mind you, these would be subjects well within the cardioid field, not outside or even on the edges. The result is that the playback sounds rather like many short bursts of words rather than actual speech. I would neither buy this device again nor recommend it.

This microphone is exactly what my daughter needed for her filming projects. It produces a high quality sound and is not too heavy. It is compatible with her other equipment and was a great price.

I don’t do videos filming myself talking. I make videos of what’s in front of me (travel/special occasions/everyday special moments), so I prefer a longer microphone hoping can capture sounds a bit better in distant. I know shotgun mic can only capture good quality sounds when it’s closer to the sound source, but I will give it a try. With the newer technologies, I believe it is still better than phone’s built-in microphone. Right now, I use wired more than wireless; I prefer just to leave the shock mount on; manual said don’t cover the antenna, but if windmuff is on that leaves me a tiny little middle section, shock mount can give me more to grip.
