Well-made, Easy-to-install, Foldable Self-locking Hinges
I must first state (since I am reviewing these hinges after reading the comments from others who've negatively spoke of these hinges) that I have not personally experienced the problems that others are referring too). Although I agree with one reviewer that I would not trust the rated 500lbs on a shelf of any decent quality, even if all 4 of the hinges were mounted on it, I do consider them relatively heavy duty. I say this because I was able to use these hinges beneath a pop-out bench that I made, which supports around 300lbs when fully loaded with shop equipment and it holds everything just fine. However, I feel like this is pressing their limit, especially from a longevity stand point. Anyhow, they install quite easily and again, unlike other reviewers, all 4 of my hinges operate perfectly normal, whether I am releasing the flip-down shelf in order to extend it down into place for use, or to flip it back up after I'm done working. The only thing that I can imagine someone may be referring too regarding their difficulty of operation, is if you try to open and close these hinges before being installed, as they are indeed stiff when held in the hand, as I would fully expect. So too, one reviewer stated that lubricating them would somehow fix, or help smooth the function of these hinges. This makes little sense to me (unless they received faulty ones), as they (in my case) appear to have no casting errors or obstruction throughout the folding process but again, are indeed a snug fit. Since they are a very basic, clean folding design, which requires the user to evenly pull the lever back, which then fully releases the cross-pin in order for it to properly clear the two side detents, lubrication would have absolutely nothing to do with it's function. It's not like a bearing or glide of some sort that requires additional smoothing of it's friction points. Anyhow, the only negative that I have experienced personally with these hinges, is that (as one reviewer also said), once you flip whatever shelf they are attached to in your situation, they don't fully hold the table top surface flush to the wall that the other side of the hinge is attached to. This however, in my situation, is not much of an issue, as the shelf only comes out from the wall about an inch more at the top, than the other side which is attached at the pivot point. So yeah, it may not be as precise as I'd prefer it be when my shelf is placed in the upright position but at least once it has clicked into position, it holds very well. In fact, the shelf could even hold my body weight hanging off of it, in the upright position (and I weigh over 200lbs), which I found impressive, personally. I cannot speak to the quality of the provided screws/hardware, as I used my own hardware based specifically on the materials that I was mounting it into. Regarding mounting hardware, I will say that I was pleased that these hinges allowed me to use much larger, hex-head lag bolts (which I wanted to ensure a deep bite into the studs in the walls), and this was only possible because of the available "open space" within the hinge, even after it is closed. So unless you require a very precise folding hinge mechanism (which I did not require in my shop-use installation), then I highly recommend these folding hinges to others.

Perfect Answer For Fold Away Shop Table
This items are very rugged. In fact, almost too rugged. A couple of them were very hard to open. However, in my folding shop table application they should be fine. Great transaction!

Very difficult to work with
Pinched my finger twice just trying to open it and get it installed, not clear instructions on how to use.

These are exactly what i was looking for
I just got done build a small barn for my tractor, I wanted a small work table that could fold up and not be in the way. I built a small table top, and attached these folding brackets to the top and the wall. They work great, I am able to fold the table up and work on it, then when I am done it folds down and out of the way. I'm not sure the weight limit of these so the table top is small and I never put anything heavy on it. It they work great and are very well made.

Poor quality
Right out of the box they fold extremely hard, had to lubricant them already. One of them didn’t fold, had to squeeze it together in a vise.I don’t think the will last very long.

Great hinges - included screws too short
I received this item through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an honest review.I purchased these hinges to build a 2' X 4' fold-down table in my grandson's "fort."I used two hinges to attach one side of the 1/2 plywood to a 2' X 4' backing, so that when lifted, that side of the table would be supported along the 4' edge. Although the hinges did lock and carry the weight of the table, it tended to slope down away from the wall. I used the other two hinges to attach fold-up legs to support the other side of the table. The hinges worked well to do that job as well.My only negative observations are that the included screws were too short. The heads were tapered instead of pan heads, so they did not screw down flush. Also, although there are five holes on one flap of the hinge, and six on the other, it is hard to get to the two inner most holes, because the springs get in the way. I was able to detach the springs one at a time, put in the screw, and reattach the spring. I have gone back and substituted appropriate screws into each hole, and now system works well.
